The fact that Schrader never got that 25 Bud car in victory lane was a damn shame.

This was the first NASCAR race I attended. Unfortunately I was sitting in the sold out backstretch stands, eating cold fried chicken from some redneck. You know, when they actually sold backstretch seats.

PS Benny Parsons

That Crashin.NU watermark gives me the warm and fuzzies. Back to a simpler time of the Internets.

BTW Chris, that was in the days when Schrader drove that great-looking Skoal car. I think I preferred that scheme to his Bud one!

Oh yes, I stand corrected. I guess the Bud car always pops into my mind when I think of Shrader and Talladega because of '95 lol........ still a damn shame Hendrick doesn't have the 25 still out there with that number font.

That 25 car never made it to victory lane as the Bud car I don't recall, only Nadeau, Nemecheck and Mears won in that ride.

Ah... Back in the good ole days when ESPN/ABC knew how to make an in-car camera survive basically anything. Glad Bill got out of that. Remember watching that one live and thinking "oh shit..." a la Mr. Jenkins from just 2 years prior to this wreck.

First Talladega race I can remember was the one when Kyle (Petty) broke his leg at after I think Swervin' Irvan triggered the crash on the back stretch...

Yep, good ole Ernie. First memory of Talladega is my Mother recounting Awesome Bill from Dawsonville's comeback from a lap and a half down under green to win in 1985. That was the stuff of legend. She was a huge Elliot fan.

You forgot Tim Richmond. And Schrader did win races in the 25 car, but when it was the Kodiak car.

I'm aware. Hence why I said Bud car. I was saying it was a shame he didn't get it into victory lane when they had Bud as a sponsor. ;)

I was quoting Underdog saying that only Mears, Nadeau and Nemecheck won in the 25. Schrader and Richmond did as well.

Yeah I'm slippin'...But my original point was nobody won in a Budwiser car for Hendrick sadly.

Great thread so far!

Unlike Dover there's a chance the DEGA thread post cars hitting the track will live up to the quality of the thread pre-track action too...

The Saturday schedule actually looks good this year. They're running the truck race at 1 ET and then Cup qualifying at 4:40. So no more pointless threats of darkness. I don't think that actually came into play in a truck race at Dega yet but it always seemed weird to put the race so late for no good reason.

All these old videos sure reminded me about how annoying Mark Martin is.
