Yeah, I'm the one who's grumpy.

Seriously man, read your post again and tell me how that isn't composed entirely of sour grapes.

I read that as, "I hope this race sucks cock so NASCAR will see the error of it's ways and return the race to IRP."

Yeah. That's all I meant. The Nationwide series should be at IRP, full stop. Unfortunately, that'll likely not happen.

I assume Joey's followed long enough to know NASCAR doesn't make a habit of correcting poor decisions.

Oh, I have. Hence the "That'll likely not happen" bit. But understand, it's hard to not get grumpy when you've followed something your whole life, you remember when it was fucking awesome, and they make all these stupid changes that screw it up. You know this. There was nothing wrong with the Nationwide/Busch series at IRP. Why change it? Might be a reason why the "Fuck you, NASCAR" thread is stickied.

Robin Miller notes:

Quote:
*** An open wheel devotee who attended USAC Sprint Week show at Bloomington and the Nationwide race at Chicagoland reported the crowd was larger in Steve Kinser’s hometown. That doesn’t bode well for Saturday.

*** USAC midgets and Silver Crown will be at Lucas Oil Raceway on Thursday night and ARCA is on the oval Friday evening, where Kevin Swindell is coming off his first stock car win.

*** Speaking of sprint week, Levi Jones edged Bryan Clauson for the crown but good 'ol Dave Darland scored his second ISW victory of 2012 in his 500th USAC start.

Expect a lot of empty seats on Sunday too. 70% full would be my guess.

70% is better than the last couple years I believe.

No, it's gonna suck. It's at the wrong track.

Hell, I hope someone leads that race from start to finish. I hope there's no passing to speak of.

With no yellows

Is Carl Edwards or a Busch brother racing? One of them wins.

Kyle Busch was fastest in Nationwide Practice today. Kurt was second fastest.

Both Busch brothers: #1-Kurt, #54-Kyle, no Edwards; Nationwide Entry List here.

In all fairness Indiana Sprint Week is the biggest week for non wing sprint car fans so everyone goes to theses races. Rumor i heard was 4,400 fans at bloomington. People plan there vacations around it thus making it one of the most awesome weeks of the year if your a non wing fan.

And I think the Dave Darland fact is wrong. I thought his 500th was the night before at Tri State but maybe I have my wires crossed. The old man can still gas it.

I love talking sprint car racing on here. I Wish it was more popular.

When WoO went kinda haywire a lot of interest died out.

WoO is still a bit haywire. Hasn't been the same since Ted got rid of it. Truth be told, losing the live TV deal did more damage than WRG ever has. Same thing with USAC to be honest. When USAC lost live, national TV coverage, they took a big hit.

One of Woo's biggest hits was the stupid nst series that took away Steve Kiner and Danny Lasoski ( at that time) for a season back in 2006 or 2007. But yeah losing Ted Johnson and practically no live tv has really hurt them. Can't even get the biggest wing race of the year on live tv anymore.

USAC is a lost cause with the current people in charge. So many problems yet nothing is hardly addressed. I mean shit, back when they streamed races on the Indy racing leagues servers they were drawing 110,000 people streaming on some races. Imagine If you charged $10 a race and get at least 20,000 people. Your going to make some money yet hardy anything is streamed anymore. Now they are trying to sell some outrageous streaming service for 25 a month. Keep in mind, if I have heard right, you can only stream that months content. Rumor has it you would be able to stream old thunder races from the 80s and 90s but they literally have been saying that since winter 2009. Oh well
