I kinda want him to bring the #3 back into Cup in the near future. Hopefully RCR agrees.

Love the retarded love for the 3 being champ. Sorry, don't get me wrong, I don't doubt Austins talent, but I just don't like the link between him and Dale with just having that 3 in the same font. It's almost like riding a wave of old school dale supporters. The kid is good enough to have his own identity. I may be flamed for this but it just doesn't sit right with me. Mind you I grew up a big Rusty fan and hated dale in the day. Idk.... Sorry.

I tend to agree. I have no problem seeing Dillon win the championship, but I don't think the number he's done it in should be a significant part of that. There will always only be one #3 as far as I'm concerned.

for this #3 story, i know this a part of history, but it's just a number. a number with a lot a signification. It's a lot better to remember the man than sacralized the Number. in everyone make that, no one can run with the #1 in F1, the #14 in Indycar or the #8 at Le Mans.

Meanwhile at Miami, lots of Wind, and dark clouds, but not rain (yet). Practice 2 is underway!

At the end of the day, yes, it is just a number. I wouldn't be one to complain if Richard Childress did eventually return it to the cup series. It was the man behind the number that made it such a recognizable figure, and that to me at least is what makes it more than just a number. But it doesn't need to be retired.

Starting to doubt the fact if Tony can outperform him tomorrow. Carl was also 2nd fastest in first practice and was fastest overall in final practice while Stewart was pretty behind. Oh well, we'll see.
