ARCA with more entries (46) than the trucks? It's too bad I can't afford to buy a CWT and start and park it, guaranteed a top 30 finish.

Not anymore. A 30th truck has been added to the entry list. James Hylton in the #75 2nd Norm Benning Motorsports entry. You would have to be able to complete 1 lap at half throttle to get a top 30.

You're just..... different. Thought you were going on vacation anyways.

I like 'em both at 500 as well. I just agree that it might benefit from having 100 miles sliced off it, like Dover did.

Oh, and I'm gonna be there on Sunday. Might be my last year for this trip, too. Been going since '96. My, how the sport has changed in just 15 years. :(

Um...Somethings not gone right here. Apparently a hauler backed into the flagstand.

'Just' 15 years. That is an enormous amount of time in motorsports you know.

The phrase "oh that gaps big enough" comes to mind

In any case Ill be in the ARCA garage and pits Saturday. Should be fun, but again this year the weather looks a bit iffy. Hoping it stays away from the track, and for Gods sake no fog this time!

Well, of course. Even to me, a crapton has happened in 15 years. In the grand scheme of things (and maybe approaching 30 has made me say this way too often, but) holy damn, time flies by just a bit too quick.

Excellent job they did on the flagstand, btw. :flag:

That thing must be old, you can see a bit of the Winston Cup logo in that pic.

Shame the Winston logo isn't more clearly visible, that photo would be an apt metaphor for what's happened to the sport over the last 10 years.

Apparently it was the 66 truck team's hauler that knocked it down.

Widest straightaway on the whole goddamn world and someone still managed to clip the flagstand? Impressive...

There is your last place finisher in the transporter driver competition. How did he manage to do that?

It really is a shame there wasn't a stationary camera set up for that straightaway, since everybody was busy watching Busch spinning.

Shaky as it is, this is probably the best angle we'll ever get:

^^ There's a slo-mo version of that too which makes it slightly easier to see, although still horrible.

Apparently the 66 truck blew up big time and actually caught fire in practice. So to recap their hauler demolished the flag stand and now their primary truck went up in flames. Something to be said for doing things big, even if theyre not things they wanted to do
