The Sprint Cup Series is taking a break this weekend, due to Easter and to recover from the blue balls received at Dega.

Meanwhile, Nationwide and Trucks will hold their own as they head off to Nashville Superspeedway.

Nationwide: Nashville 300 - Saturday @ 3pm ET on ESPN
Trucks: Bully Hill Vineyards 200 - Friday @ 8pm ET on SPEED

Kyle 2.0 gets another guitar, won't smash this one.

Cause no casual fans will watch without the usual jackasses stealing the show. Plus some sponsers wont sponser the unknown drivers that can not race for the win. It is sad.
Fact is, Nationwide Series sucks.

It's a self perpetuating problem imo. Casual fans watch the Nationwide series they only know the buschwackers. Sponsors only want to sponsor these known drivers because the fans will buy into it and they run on top. The buschwackers driving means there is far less time to profile other drivers in the series, not to mention they get pushed down the leaderboard, so getting to know them only via television broadcasts is quite hard unless they start running in the top five constantly. Sponsors won't have much interest in them either.

It's sad really, but that's my take on it. The only way to fix it is to give more camera time to non-buschwackers, or to eliminate them from a bunch of races and let fans get familiar with these "new" faces, now running up front without Kyle Busch, Hamlin and the rest.

The current top five in points under the new rules are:

1 Jason Leffler 233
2 Justin Allgaier 231 -2
3 Elliott Sadler 228 -5
4 Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. 225 -8
5 Reed Sorenson 224 -9

How much camera time are these guys getting versus the buschwackers? Not very much.

Who wants to bet come Homestead, ESPN will spend more time praising the owner's champion than the points champ?

"Here he comes out of turn 4, the legend continues! Kyle Busch has won the Nationwide Series Owners Championship!!! Truly he has joined Petty and Earnhardt in the pantheon of great champions! Oh, and Reed Sorenson has won the points title......... ALL HAIL THE GREAT ROWDY BOOSH!!!1!11!!!!"

In some ways I would actually respect ESPN for paying more attention to the owner's title, because it would be a clear acknowledgment on their part of the fact that the driver's title is essentially meaningless now (unless some N'Wide regular really steps it up between now and the finale and has a true, championship season).

The fact of the matter is if someone won the championship over all without excluding the Cup drivers from it they would probably already be in Cup IMO

I just wish the Cup teams would stop backing the Cup drivers in Nationwide. When Buschwhackers used to run in part-time Busch equipment, they would often get beaten by the regulars. The only exception was Mark and the Roush #60, who shamelessly dominated Nationwide races almost as often as Kyle does today. And even the mighty Kyle wasn't that great when he drove for Braun Racing, scoring only one win. But this proliferation of Nationwide specialization by Cup teams backing Cup drivers has got to stop.

Do any of you who bitch about ESPN's coverage ever complaint to them about it via email? Hell, if you have facebook, look up the people working the booth/pit road and ask them why certain things aren't done. I know I can ask Ralph Sheheen or Bob Varsha a question and I will typically get a response. Just a thought.

It's a pretty tight field for once. Maybe it won't be too bad.

Nationwide is terrible though. FARCE.

Good God, Jennifer. She shows ups with 4 women on her pit crew, with a truck they prepared in 2 days, and runs 3 tenths slower than Norm Benning...
