Yeah that's a pretty narrow escape. My dad was down in the infield in T3 and was close enough to hear that impact.

Check out the Video Response that Jeff posted to my clip on Youtube from the infield. The *crunch* sound is sickening.

Damn. :o

I'm guessing that's somewhat close to where my dad and the rest of the gang were standing.

I was by the fence on the backstretch, though I wandered all over the infield while I was there.

Watch Dan's video again, you can see Scott Speed's car attempt to climb the car next to him at the 8 second mark. I wish I'd filmed the entire wreck, you could see Scott's car climbing really well from where I was.

and even if it does mix up the championship scenario like today's race did, it won't matter anywhere near as much.

Eeh, I like the Fall date, but since it would mean Dega would be the final race, I guess it makes sense.

It's been in the spring before('92-'96). Just don't get why they'd move it,though.

It has been announced that ARCA is returning to the Nashville Speedway or the first time since 1992 on June 20, 2009. Here is the article.

That's great. :) SPEED probably won't cover it I guess as it's not a big ol' cookie-cutter.

Guess I'll be going down there next year. :)

I was going to go to the Nashville Superspeedway race this year, but Casola left Win-Tron before the race so I didn't go.

So the current schedule is shaping up so far:

2/? Daytona (probably the same day as the Shootout,as always)
4/? Salem
?/? Talladega(remember they were talking about moving this race to the spring from the fall.)
5/9 Kentucky
5/? Rockingham(haven't heard anything on this.)
5/? Toledo (ARCA owns Toledo,so they'll be racing there,obviously)
6/20 Nashville Fairgrounds
7/18 Kentucky Speedway (Apparently a doubleheader on the same day with the NCWTS.)
9/? Salem (Fall race,I think ARCA's had a deal with Salem for awhile)
10/? Toledo (likely season finale again.)

I'm sure there will be Springfield,DuQuoin, two Pocono races and a Michigan race, as well as races at Chicago,Iowa and Kansas probably.

Not sure if they're still using Nashville SS,or returning to the New Jersey roadcourse. I would like to see them return to Winchester Speedway.

The '09 schedule in full is supposed to be released this week.

Music City Motorplex? That's a truly hideous name for a real racing circuit. Sounds like some sort of futuristic race track in one of those cheap sci-fi programs

It may be an awful name, but it's one of the best damn paved short tracks in the country. I'm totally going to this race.

That track has a lot of history. It used to be called the Nashville Speedway. Drivers like Darrell Waltrip, Sterling Marlin, The Green Brothers and the Hamiltons all cut their racing teeth at that track. 2008 was the 50th year of racing at the track.
