If you have ever attended a race at Nashville Fairgrounds, you would realize this is not "fuckin awesome." Nashville Fairgrounds is one amazing racetrack. I've never seen a dull race there.

I'm surprised by this news but at least they got a good replacement in Mansfield.

ARCA races on dirt at Springfield and DuQuoin every year. Unfortunately Speed doesn't cover those races, so I don't get to see them.

I'm going to try and make it to the DuQuoin dirt race this year. It's three days after Toledo,so that'll be a nice roadtrip.

ARCA's raced at DuQuoin and Springfield since the mid 80s,prior to that, they were co-sanctioned events with USAC. ARCA's also run on dirt at a few other places in recent times, notably Hagerstown in '89-'90.

The ARCA race at Mansfield is the Tim Richmond Memorial 200.

Tim won the 1981 ARCA 200 at Daytona.

Nice to see at least one sanctioning body doing something for Richmond.

32 cars are entered for Salem,so all should make the show if they run in practice and whatnot.

I've heard the rain is supposed to come late in the afternoon on Sunday, the race starts at 2:15. Hope they either move the start back a few minutes and get it in quickly, with fewer cars there may be fewer cautions(incidents),the race should only take about an hour and a half to maybe two hours at most.

Awesome 360 to not hit anything by Brett Hudson in qualifying.

Patrick Sheltra rebounds from his injury at Daytona by getting his first ARCA win at Salem. Appearently it started raining just as the checkers fell.

It started sprinkling with about 20 laps left, but it was really starting to rain when Sheltra took the checkers. They'd lost the track by the time the cars came around to the pits.
