So yeah, Fonda was a mess. Three modified flips. Decker's car had 1, count them 1 lap on it. Brand spanking new Bicknell chassis. Didn't even have paint on it yet. Totally destroyed. Complete show got over at 1:30AM. Feature was a great race, but the running of it was nearly inexcusably bad. |

^ It makes sense to some extent. They're hoping to get more cars to show up because now the guys don't have to have all the dry break quick fill stuff. They throw the yellow at lap 100 (or around there) and you have 5 laps to pit. You cannot lose a lap under these 5 laps so you can refuel the car without penalty and without having to have a bunch of other junk. It's also safer since these guys do not make pit stops except for the SDW 200/150 and the ESW 200/150. |

I get that side of it, at least it's only 1 and they aren't counting laps under it.I do wonder how the 2002 format would work at Oswego tho. Would love to see the champ cars run a race or 2 there Sent from my SM-S766C using Tapatalk |

Fonda to be promoted by Deyo starting in 2019. Will run American Racer tires & Sunoco fuel & will work with Glen Ridge on compounds. Fonda 200 will return as well. https://speed51.com/fonda-speedway-sign ... ans-ahead/ Sent from my SM-S766C using Tapatalk |

Didn't Danny Johnson sweep the BB and SB race at the mile that year? Silver Crown or Sprint Cars, of any engine capacity, are WAY too dangerous for Oswego on dirt. That place would need significant upgrades to host an open-wheel Sprint type car on dirt. The speeds would be astronomical. They (410's) were doing 155mph on the mile back in the 80's and early 90's. They might be close to that on a tacky track at Oswego. Certainly faster than they were at Rolling Wheels. Silver Crown would be much slower but still, with the higher likely hood of getting upside down on dirt there's no way Oswego could host a race with those types of cars in a reasonably safe manner. As for Deyo, that was the worst kept secret going. We'll see if it plays out. The Fonda Fair Board are a bunch of bastards to deal with so it'll be interesting to see how Brett handles the fact that he'll get to spend his money with very little return. |

Video of that race is on YouTube I think Kinda of the reason why I thought about the Silver Crown cars, hell if it was feasible I'd love to see one there during Eastern Storm on asphalt, doubt it would with Williams Grove already on the cards on the dirt side & the travel though |

On my phone from the campground at Oswego so links and whatnot ain't happening, but SuperDIRTWeek is here! Big Block Modifieds go 200 laps around the famed Steel Palace. Small Blocks go 150 on Saturday with Sportsman and Pro Stocks (will be working on the crew for one of these) take up supporting roles. Forecast is iffy at best but there are a lot of campers here already and it appears they will be back next year. Initial contract was 3 years so expect and extension announcement perhaps Weds. Also heard the want to redo the camping in order to add 200 more sites. |
