NASCAR is considering a online streaming service for broadcasts of regional / international series and for a VOD archive for the 2020 season.

-

Have they finally learned that having some form of coverage online is a good thing yet? I mean DIRTvision, DIRT on DIRT, RacinBoys & The Cushion has been doing live broadcasts for like 10 years now.

So... kind of like the WWE Network? I hope they make it work, the Network has been the best thing that could have happened to the WWE.

NASCAR has released the 2019 Whelen Modified Tour schedule. Wall Stadium has been added along with South Boston, Bristol & Langley are the notable removals from the schedule.

Bummer on Langley as it's a great track for Modifieds, but seeing Wall & South Boston on is pretty awesome. About damn time they got rid of Bristol

Pretty disappointing schedule for what was supposed to be a "unified" modified tour.

Only two races in the south and way too many tracks have multiple race dates.

It sucks but it's better than 0 races.

Besides the current tracks hosting the Tour and a few select others. Most tracks that prefer running Mods can't afford it, hence why most tracks not on the Tour run as open-comp or with a tour like RoC or SMRS.

It would be nice if they could get the schedule back to how it was in the late 80's with 4 southern / mid-atlantic races in the spring & fall, and a few more upstate NY / PA races tho. It would be badass if they got Jennerstown, Martinsville, Orange County back on.

Two of the biggest season-ending events in American short track racing is this weekend with the 51st annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway with on-track activity starting on Wednesday with support races, and concluding with the 300-lap Super Late Model race on Sunday. This event is the biggest asphalt Super Late Model race of the year, and features some of the top asphalt stock car racers competing. Meanwhile north, the some of the top racers in Super Late Models, Midgets and UMP-style Open Wheel Modifieds on dirt are racing within The Dome at America's Center (former stadium of the NFL Rams) in the COMP Cams Gateway Dirt Nationals on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Speed51 has a information page (entry lists, schedules, history on the event) for the Snowball once again this year, and they will also broadcast the entire weekend live on PPV. It is race day at Five Flags for the 51st Snowball Derby. Weather is slowly starting to dry out at Five Flags after constant rain for most of yesterday & last night. Unclear on the exact plan for the Snowflake 100, Modifieds of Mayhem feature or the Pro Trucks feature still at this time. Harrison Burton is on pole for the 300 lap classic for the Super Late Models. Speed51 is broadcasting the race live on PPV.

The roval at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is in action for the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series season finale. The track layout is basically a chicane-less version of the Formula E layout, as it uses turns 3 & 4 of the 1 mile oval, and the stadium section through the Foro Sol. Abraham Calderon is on pole for the NASCAR PEAK Mexico race, while Michael Dörrbecker (NASCAR FedEx Challenge) & Alex de Alba (MIKEL's Trucks) is starting P1 in the listed support races. Also in action includes Tractocamiones Freightliner & Formula 1800. FansChoice.TV, FOX Sports (Mexico) and Escuderia Telmex is broadcasting the race live. The broadcast is slated to start at 12:00PM (CT - local) on FOX Sports (Mexico) / Escuderia Telmex & 02:00PM ET on FansChoice.TV

Bobby Pierce (Super Late Models), Christopher Bell (Midgets) and Mike Harrison (UMP style modifieds) got the feature wins in the Gateway Dirt Nationals last night.

The Gobbler at Accord was canceled due to the weather conditions.
