Weak shit. Weak, weak shit. They’ve truly given up trying.

Yeah, besides isn't that what NASCAR's basically doing already?

Yeah, but I’m being honest about my behavior.

I dunno man, I talk a big game but I get shy when my grave desecration has an audience.

At least it will be more fun to watch, and also to drive on iRacing

Quote:
“At the test, we noticed an improvement in traffic. The car did not lose rear downforce when it yawed, which is an issue we fight with the current car. The drivers would be able to slide around more on the short tracks and really have to be less careful about putting power down,” said Eric Jacuzzi, NASCAR’s vice president of vehicle performance.

“We felt that would be a benefit, and that was the big takeaway from the driver feedback. At the test, they felt they could really tell that it was more forgiving. They felt they could slide the car.”

Seems like a step in the right direction, at least.

More forgiving? They already don't have anywhere near enough power. And we're making that even easier? Race cars are supposed to be an unruly handful, for fuck's sake.

The NextGen is one of the worst cars on the iRacing Service. It's a POS.

On iRacing it was snappy loose, you had to settle down and just try not to spin, while going pretty fast. This can work. You will be able to do more bold moves, even tough you be slower overall.

One day they’ll learn to listen to the drivers. More power, less downforce is all they’ve been saying for the past 10 years and all NASCAR seem to hear is “more downforce less power”, May r if they wasn’t so interested in their ESG score (why the fuck does a sport care?) then maybe they could fix it, but it seems everybody is so scared of ESG that it rules the roost.

NASCAR saw the success of WEC/IMSA convergence and thought "hey, we could use some of that". Sadly, the only series willing to converge was the Citroen 2CV racing club

Yes, but also no. One of the hard things about dealing with dirty air. You need the way the car feels in dirty air to be as consistent and predictable as possible, so it makes sense to me that they'd need to do something to make the cars that are already slipping and sliding thanks to dirty air less likely to lose even more downforce and slide up the track. Also I feel like the change in tire construction will make tire wear matter more, which is good for longer runs.

That said... Band Aid on an open, gushing wound. Not much will truly help until they have more power than grip and they can actually spin the tires coming off the corner.

I watch the Cars Tour late models sometimes and they put on fantastic short track racing, and they're 3300 lbs cars with and only about 400 HP, making me wonder if more power is always the answer?

For fucks sake, there will be way less downforce! You guys just wanna tunnel vision to see the news on the worst possible way, just to have a reason to bitch and moan about everything.

let's see in the real life once they get the handle. Always believed that real racing drivers must know how to use pedals and not using it like on/off switches

Like Dan said earlier, it's a bandaid on a gushing wound. These cars are just fundamentally shit. An aero tweak won't make them suddenly good. Also, the fact that they continue to completely ignore the intermediate and speedway packages is a huge failure.
