When you hear that a Busch brother is involved in a violent domestic assault, you think "hell yeah, of course that happened". When a victim comes forward to make these allegations, you have to take them seriously, especially when it concerns someone whose emotions have been known to be as erratic as Kurt's.

Victims of domestic abuse need support, yes. Still, it's not outside the realm of possibility that someone could make that shit up. Look at Chris P's personal experience - that shit happens all the time, but in this day in age, it's "safer" to side with the victim for fear of sounding like a misogynistic prick. Not that domestic abuse DOESN'T happen, I'm just sayin' you never know, and we technically shouldn't be forming an opinion on either side of the coin.

Not sure if anyone outside of Canada has heard about the Jian Ghomeshi scandal (CBC guy fired for allegedly assaulting women, who then sued the CBC because it was "just BDSM"), but I didn't have an opinion until things became overwhelmingly obvious that A) he was an extreme douchebag and B) that a bunch more women eventually came forward.

At this point, it's Driscoll's word vs. Busch's, and it's an incredibly sad situation. If it's true, wow - Busch's problems upstairs are way worse than I ever imagined. If it's not true, well then that's a whole other kind of suck.

"Poor kid" is the only opinion I can properly form in my brain right now. :(

Speaking of Kurt Busch, I was watching the 2000 Pennzoil 400 at Homestead yesterday when they did a spotlight on still-yet-to-be-a-rookie Kurt Busch (driving one of my favourite schemes of all time in its last race, the John Deere #97). They mentioned that then-crew chief (and not yet tanned to a crisp) Jeff Hammond said Busch gave phenomenal feedback to the team when it came to the car's handling.

He also said he'd win the Rookie honors in 2001 (which Harvick won), but he said "he will be contending for the championship within 3 years"

Champion in 2004. Called that one, Hammond.

He didn't say "his time in NASCAR will be batshit crazy", however.

Not heard of that but something similar happened here with a News presenter, got fired for allegedly assaulting a fellow presenter, went on to successfully sue the employer as it came out that the assault wasn't an assault and he was sacked because the "victim" gave the channel a "it's me or him" ultimatum and they panicked (incidentally the same news channel lost a Court Case recently when they labelled an innocent person a suspect in a murder and essentially did their own on-air trial by television of the guy, later turned out someone completely separate was the murderer and the guy that they had essentially put on trial for it, wasn't).

There's also been quiet a few similar cases, sometimes the person get's off, sometimes not, it depends on the situation, quiet often it appears the "victim" simply regrets their actions of that night, or just wants attention.

What the Police should do is their job, i.e. investigate the allegation and file charges if they believe there is a case to answer, what they shouldn't be doing is offering trial by media with these pathetic news conferences and media releases, the media should also not report the specific details until any trial is over (how hard is it for the authorities to say "while investigations are ongoing we will be making no comments"?), but alas we live in a world where everybody wants instant news and you are guilty until designated not-guilty, and even then, the majority of shitheads will still believe they are guilty and just "got off".

I actually was following the Jian Ghomeshi deal for a bit and he might be a bit insane. I know allegations are allegations but the stuff he wrote and said pointed all towards guilty.

"The CBC fired me for the private crazy shit I do in the bedroom, and everyone who says they didn't agree to it are liars... by the way, ladies, in case you were wondering about the private crazy shit I got fired for, here it is in great detail. I also kept recorded video of my escapades just so I could show the CBC it was 'consensual'!"

Justin Boston is getting a big opportunity. This is from Jayski.

Quote:
Boston to join KBM in 2015: Motorsport.com has learned that Justin Boston will move up into the NASCAR national touring divisions come 2015. Boston has spent the last two seasons in ARCA, piloting a car owned by Venturini Motorsports. In 2014, he won for the first time at Toledo. Kyle Busch has hired the young talent to drive a third entry in the Camping World Truck Series next season, alongside fellow young guns Darrell Wallace Jr. and Erik Jones. He will have backing from Zloop in this new venture. Oddly enough, the 24-year-old racer will be the 'veteran' driver of the trio, in terms of age. He made his Truck debut earlier this year at Bristol, finishing 30th after getting caught up in a wreck. He impressed in two starts for Gibbs at the Nationwide level though, placing inside the top 12 in both races. Kyle Busch Motorsports has dominated the Truck circuit in 2014, which is to be expected when Kyle gets behind the wheel. However, Jones and Wallace have each won three races this season as well. The team is eying it's second consecutive owner's title this weekend, hoping to hold off ThorSport and win it all tonight.

Some congresswoman demands NASCAR to suspend Kurt Busch for domestic abuse.

NASCAR tells her to basically fuck off and they'll take care of it when the cops do their job.

Well it's a fine line on what decision should be made, but a member of Congress sure has no say in it. Congress has its own shit to do anyway (should they ever decide to start working again).

There are several less sketchy places to sell fairly valuable items then Craigslist.

Trust me, I sell a lot of things on there, you will generally get at least two spam calls for every one item you sell on there.

But as dysfunctional as that team is, it just seems appropriate for them to do that.
