No more Nationwide/Xfinity live on MotorsTV

sadly the canadian tire series has been declining anyway (lower car counts and this year was going to have one less race on the schedule until they added a new one last week). I'm surprised it has lasted this long but I expect anything that nascar touches to pretty much die off at some point.

NASCAR fucking fleeced the Canadian racing market so hard up there, and once Canadian Tire leaves (their contract is up this year, and they're seriously considering declining to renew) they'll have salted the earth so nobody else can take over.

Typical, wasn't it IMG who fucked up Champcar's TV rights back in the day too?

ESPN - happy to have someone take it off their hands, even if at reduced value, as long as it covers cost = NASCAR has good European coverage.
IMG - you don't want to pay what we're asking? tough, we do not negotiate. Nobody watches NASCAR.

I fucking hate bean counters, I'm expecting Premier's coverage of Cup to go the same way.

atleast ESPN had NASN/ESPN America to sell the rights to (after MotorsTV lost them in 2007) But now? I don't see any pan-european channel picking up the rights.

Not for Xfinity no, there's some rumours on Facebook that maybe Premier are going after the whole package but that would just be for the UK.
I'd actually face the wrath of the wife and subscribe to Premier if they had all three, it would mean I'd have to buy her a TV but fuck her this is NASCAAAAAR!!!!

Is Motorvision still showing Cup this year?

Fuck premier sports and it's bullshit sports no one wants to see while holding onto the cup rights so it can try to lure a few pennies.

Was looking forward to at least being able to watch one of the races from speed weeks live on my tv *sigh*

I'd rather pay Premier £7.99 than Sky £45 to watch the same program, with the added bonus of Sky's coverage having 3 minutes of adverts every 11 minutes.

Jayski wrote:
Driscoll email called for psy-ops war to manipulate media: As #14-Tony Stewart, coped last year with the most tragic accident ever to happen to him, Patricia Driscoll, the woman now accusing ex-boyfriend and NASCAR driver, #41-Kurt Busch, of domestic abuse, boasted her training in psychological warfare was needed to help Stewart's public relations team manipulate and control the media, according to an email obtained by Kickin' the Tires. "I am writing you because what little know about me you may not know that I have a background in Psychological Operations," Driscoll wrote, in an email dated Aug. 12, 2014. "Part of my training and skill set is to break down large issues and be able to convince large and small groups of people to do what you want. I've worked in countries all over the world waging not only physical wars but mental wars, and I've helped get a lot of Congressman save their jobs when they did some stupid and not so legal things."(see full article at KickinTheTires)(2-11-2015)

I just saw a major flaw though - Driscoll is evidently a smart woman, and she'd at least spell stuff properly. This looks like it could have been fabricated - I've bolded some things in there that make it look pretty Bush-league... or, Busch-league, if you will. That last sentence looks like it's been written by a twelve-year old.

I have to disagree to your observation of her being a smart woman, she comes across much more as self indulgent immature adult suffering from paranoia with a touch of multiple personality disorder thrown in for good measure, exhibiting sociapathic tendencies too. Being able to spell has never been a sign of intelligence.

Not saying Kurt is any better, but a 'smart women' wouldn't have allowed this circus to go on for as long as it has.

Well, y'know, I meant "smart" in that she'd at least know that more than one "Congressman" is "Congressmen"... but then again, I could be wrong about that. haha

Fair enough, I guess... still, it's so batshit crazy it makes you doubt it's validity. That's par for the course for this whole ordeal, though.

I'd rather have the real Mike Pereira play Nascar's Mike Pereira instead of Andy Petree play the role of Mike Pereira.
