NASCAR have had the bright idea to shorten each segment of qualifying to 5 minutes.

They need to quit edging it back and just call it quits. Single-car is the only qualifying format anyone should be using for oval racing.

I have no clue where they got the idea that group qualifying is more exciting.

Terrible. I'm not sure what to think yet of ARCA becoming part of NASCAR, but jeez, they have to do something I guess. :(

There's a 10k race here tomorrow which is expected to have around 25k participants, probably the same amount the cup race will get in attendance. lol

Ah, the annual traffic snarl known as the Monument Ave 10k! Oh, and hello fellow RVA member.

You ask most around here about the race tomorrow and it'll be the Ukrop's, not NASCAR.

I think they ended up with 19 entries for Salem. Think the last year I went (2016) they had at least 25 for both races. It's starting to remind me of the ARCA Truck Series races where a dozen trucks showed up at most races.

Cole Custer won the Xfinity race. He dominated the second half. Austin Cindric, Justin Allgaier, Tyler Reddick and Ryan Sieg were the rest of the top 5.
