Tony Eury Jr. out as Danica's scapegoat WAIT CREW CHIEF, I meant crew chief. #nascar

http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/T ... ief-091712

It sounds like the Eury's bailed mainly because Dale Jr wasn't willing to put a Cup guy in one of his rides:
Quote:
Eury Jr. had been surprised at his father's dismissal from the team and was clearly unhappy about it at Richmond when the news broke. When asked how he'd get the team back in the right direction, Eury Jr. said JRM needed to hire a Sprint Cup Series driver.

"That's about the bottom line," he said. "If you're going to run in the top 10 in this series over here, then you go get a Cup driver to come over here and you'll run top five all day.

"It's very seldom you'll find a Ricky Stenhouse or a Brad Keselowski. I think our company is built off the rookies and trying to do the best we can with them, but the way the economy in this sport has gone, if you're going to win races, you've got to step up to the plate and go get a Cup guy and spend the money."

Apparently, his philosophy differed from Earnhardt Jr. and Miller, who may have felt the team was not taking advantage of its technical relationship with Hendrick Motorsports. FoxSports.com reported Ryan Pemberton would take over as Patrick's crew chief, though the team did not mention it in a press release.

"They’re trying to fix the competition of the cars," Eury Jr. told FoxSports.com. "They thought they could do better without me there. They hired Ryan and Ryan’s their guy."

Eury Jr's right, and that's the crap state of affairs that the NNS is, but if you're truly excited and believe in crewchiefing a cup driver in Nationwide then you've got pretty low dreams as a crew chief. Fuck the mentality of bringing more cup drivers in, I'm glad Jr is sticking with running new drivers even if it means running Danica.

Well, it's a good thing they have found a driver of that calibre then.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Hal Martin's signed to drive for TriStar Motorsports in the Nationwide Series at Kansas, Texas, and Homestead this year. He's going for rookie of the year next year.

I just read a report that Elliott Sadler and Brian Vickers will be running full-time in the #18 and #20 cars in the Nationwide Series next year. It looks like we're in for another tight points battle next year between the two of them, Austin Dillon, Trevor Bayne and others.

Sweet deal. It's going to be a good year in Nationwide next year.

Gotta love how they called him an "Arca veteran" in the press release despite his 11 starts.

Regan Smith and Furniture Row appear to be parting ways.

Regan Smith confirmed he's been told he won't be back in the No. 78 next year. "Appears I'm getting car ready for someone else," he said.

There's a rumour on Twitter that the trucks may be going to South Boston next year

Mid-Ohio? That might be quite interesting.

And the Trucks belong at places like South Boston and Myrtle Beach.

Fully agree.

Mid-Ohio could be a laugh.

Does Portland host any races these days?

Apart from the 2 plate races, Michigan, Charlotte, Atlanta, Homestead but the majority of races should be on smaller ovals

If the Trucks end up at either SoBo or Myrtle Beach, I would cream myself.

It would be 1997 all over again.

Outside of the K&N Pro Series West race last month, they only have club races like SCCA.

Man, I wish Portland was on any major series' schedule, since I'd easily be able to catch a race at that track if they thought of bringing at least the Trucks or Nationwide there.

Maybe Indycar has outgrown it but Trucks could defo race there. Nationwide too. Cup probably doesn't think there's enough grandstands >.<
