NASCAR is bad

I haven't bothered to look at the replay but I believe Danica moving up was to ensure only Brad spun out not her. Same as how when Carl came down on Brad in 2009, Brad had to move up a little to ensure only Carl went around. Or how the Moroccan guy had to move up into Coronel in the second Marrakesh WTCC race this year so he didn't get taken into the wall along with Tom.

Does Dega still have the flagstand on the backstretch? If so, we're halfway there!

I don't see it happening though. I've already seen a ton of PR coming from nascar proclaiming "Another Thrilling Talladega Finish!!1" so I doubt anything will change. Surprised that outside of this forum, it doesn't seem like too many people seem that upset. There was more debate about this topic in the media after the Indy 500 last season. I expected the same here but nope.

Most of the mainstream media is sucking the NASCAR wang and think the fix for Indycar is to be more like NASCAR. They couldn't be further from the truth. Sadly, only the real fans and the actual open wheel journalists know this.

NASCAR fondues their race under caution and nobody bats an eye.

IndyCar finishes their race under caution and everyone loses their minds.

It helps that it happened the one race a year the mainstream media really gives a shit about Indycar racing.

Dega's always a big deal, but it ain't the Daytona 500. Once the '500 ends under caution, then they might get the hint.

Brad doesn't come down at all though. Looking at the white lines, he stays straight.

So I guess the overwhelming majority of 'true' fans would rather see the GWC policy repealed and go back to ending races under yellow?

Either that, or as many GWCs as it takes to finish under green.

I'd go with the former.

Considering the GWC is artificial and races can STILL end under yellow, what's the point of it?

Either give us rules about making sure races end under green or be done with it.

If guess if this says anything about the condition of the sport, ratings from Sunday were the lowest since 1998. 16 years.

i think nascar really intended and wanted to finish under green, but obviously the bumper laying in the track forced the obvious. if junior had won instead of denny i doubt we'd have as much bitching about how the race finished.

Personally, I would just as soon see the GWC go away and replaced with in the last 10 laps, if the yellow comes out, it's race back to the line. That way the race is over at the advertised distance and the winner isn't determined by a scoring line in the middle of T2.

Why not just run short track rules where caution flag laps don't count in the last 10 laps?

Well, they want to make more like a show in detriment of fair and justice for who should win, but not that much.

Still, I would like to see the 3 attempts if we get a yellow in the last lap.

Why not just say that the only time the race can end under yellow is on the 3rd and final GWC?

That's actually a pretty reasonable compromise.

And it'll result in even more pileups and even more cars being written off because of the lottery effect of GWC finishes. I don't think the teams would be too keen on it. Is it really that important to have 2nd place in with a shot to the last second?
