^ That's awesome news. I actually just tested a legends car with Brandon Thomson at Auburndale last Friday it's a pretty fun track.

Also, if anyone is interested the K&N East race from Rockingham will be televised today. I know there is a flip and a last lap crash...

The comment I posted on that video: "This series has the worst TV coverage I've ever seen for a racing event, at least in regards to camera work. They constantly miss shots, the video is shaky, and the editing looks like an afterthought."

I really wish I could be in charge of NASCAR's regional series TV broadcasts, I swear I could do a better job with just a couple of cameras than they do with a dozen.

Also, here's the whole race from Rockingham on youtube:

I'm heading down to Southern National Motorsports Park tomorrow for the last race of the year (that I'm going to at least) and it's a big one. The Thanksgiving Classic will have feature races Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon, with the headlining event being a 200 lap Late Model Stock Car race. There's a rumor that Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin will be there racing, but I'll believe it when I see it. However, Ernie Irvan will be there with his son who is racing in the Super Late Model race on Sunday, which is pretty cool for me since Ernie was a favorite of mine from when I was a kid back in the late 90s. It's gonna be cold and I'm hoping my cameras all function properly, but I should have some kick ass video from this event in the next couple weeks.

The Snowball Derby has been run and the winner pending post-race inspection is Erik Jones, a 15 year old from Michigan. He used the outside to fend off Kyle Busch for 20 laps late in the going before pulling away and holding off a late charge from Jeff Choquette for the win. Kyle Busch was penalized at one point for rough driving and might have been confronted in the pits after the race by another driver. There was security involved but I don't know if it was any more than discussion.

You didn't mention that Steve Wallace apparently threw a hammer at Kyle Busch's car at some point during the race.

I didn't hear about that.

Also, post-race tech has been completed. Here is the official top 5.

1. Erik Jones
2. Jeff Choquette
3. Kyle Busch
4. Jeff Fultz
5. Chase Elliott

At the Snowball Derby, tech inspections are very strict. In 2009, Brian Ickler, who was driving a car for Kyle Busch was DQ'd for failing post-race inspection and had a win taken away from him.

3 drivers actually had arguments with Kyle Busch. Casey Smith, TJ Reaid (Who Kyle Busch took out), and Steven Wallace.

Big news! Jake will have a teammate for the FUPS Series finale at Auburndale Speedway on December 8th! Current NASCAR driver and local fan favorite David Reutimann will pilot a Jake Perkins Motorsports machine for this race! We are looking forward to working with David for this event and we can't wait! More details to follow!!!

And this has fallen through, David won't be racing Saturday night.

The race will however be covered by Speed51.

Sad to see the North and South combo race at Thompson gone from the mod tour schedules. Also it's pretty crazy that the Southern Mod Tour is running almost half their races at Caraway.

I'm glad the combo race at Thompson is gone, it was a joke of an event anyway. If you're gonna have a combination race why separate the North and South Tours into two different races?

Caraway had 7 races in 2011 and 6 races in 2011 so I guess 5 is a little bit more reasonable. But hey, if they're willing to pay NASCAR for all those races more power to them.

Busch North is dead, long like K&N East.

Half-assed as usual, but such is NASCAR's attempts at that level. If it's not one of the big-3 divisions, it's an even more blatant money grab.

I would be interested to see the K&N East race at Road Atlanta.

That's cool to see a race on the only paved oval in operation in Missouri get a race on the K&N West Schedule.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. If NASCAR was smart, they would have bought the Pro Cup series around 2004 when they first ran into sponsorship issues and still ran steel bodies/ex-GN chassis, and created four regional tours: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest/Great Lakes and West. It might have made things more viable now travel-wise, and it's not like there wouldn't have been enough companion events for each.

Is that another new name for IRP?
