While we have a moment, lets all take a deep breath, close our eyes and be thankful we have a NASCAR race worth watching on our hands.

Led the most laps, hit the wall. Worked back to fight for the lead, spun. Recovered again, hit the wall a ton.

Almirola's had a full day. Shame it ended like that.

I think we're easily due at least one more caution.

If not breaking the all time record, which must've been for some batshit insane race in the 80s or something...

Sure beats the survivable worst-case scenario: head injuries.

22 cautions is the record. In 2005.

He's done reasonably well considering the opportunities he's been given I think. It did seem sort of rich, but nothing compared to a bad driver with no stock car accomplishments besides a bunch of wrecked racecars wrecking herself while attempting payback for a simple side swipe. She should take lessons from Stenhouse, he got bullied by Logano most of the race yesterday and ignored it and went on to win. She just doesn't have any maturity.

It's weird. So many people around here are have a laugh and joke about random midpack/mediocre/failed development drivers and whatnot and it's okay. I take one mild jab at Landon fucking Cassill and suddenly his fan club arrives.

Look, I know Patrick is over-rated and only at such an advanced level of the sport because she's a marketing icon and I know she's made a bunch of mistakes. I fucking get it. But she's not the complete turd everyone loves to make her out to be. Any other driver does that and it's a simple "haha, dumbass" but Danica when does it we have to cue the chorus of indignation and laughter. It's old and tired.

Sorry, just saw this. I personally like Cassill, he hasn't set the world on fire but I think he's a likable driver, unlike Danica. And I think the constant bashing is probably because she is so obviously only driving because she has boobs and sponsorship. In Nationwide she has been on about the same level as Steven Wallace, and has contended for even less wins, yet she will have a fully funded and competitive Cup ride probably for at least 5-6 years. Granted, she has improved a lot since the beginning and is finally started to look like a stock car driver sometimes, but she doesn't have the talent to be in Cup. I wish she did because I'd like to see a successful female driver, but she doesn't. Godaddy needs to get rid of her and sponsor Johanna Long instead, she has way more potential.

But I'll stop bashing her and start watching the race, which is actually watchable for once. Nascar, this is what happens when it's actually hard to drive, now take some of the aero off the cars and fix the tires so all the races will be like this next year

Ah yes, the 2005 World 600.

What happens when the track management decides to levigate the track surface? Blown tires everywhere!

Yeah. You're leading the race (by a considerable margin) only to let the RF blow.
