Footage from one of the last Australian NASCAR races during it's initial run. Some of the cars from this period are currently running in the Stock Cars Australia series (including the VT Holden).

any updates re: coker taking down all those vids? anyone know how many totals channels lost races? it's kinda crazy how one person can single handedly ruin a good thing

It only seems to be a few specific major channels that Jay had 'issues' with in the past that are gone. I doubt there are any full seasons left now but there are still quite a lot of races up, I had a look at 86, 92, and 02 for an example and those seasons all still had at least 10 full Cup races up.

I haven't heard much. I did ban him from HSCR and passed his IP address along to one of the mods here, and I let them read the somewhat entertaining email exchange he and I had after I didn't respond to his messages on Facebook. I also noticed he actually has a few of wildturnip's vids posted on his YT account from long ago.

Lol he has quite a few old NASCAR clips on his channel, although not full races because according to his channel description 'NASCAR owns the rights to the broadcast'. Funnily enough he also claims that he had nothing to do with the recent takedowns, but even if he's innocent he doesn't deserve much sympathy given he's taken down races in the past which still makes him a hypocritical twat.

The claims were sent from his youtube account.

Jeff did the right thing in banning Coker from HSCR (a forum I am also a member of). Coker's gloating about the mass takedown of full races from YouTube on that forum (as well as on his Twitter) was just appalling.

I did a little investigation for the kick of it and there are plenty of full races still up on YouTube. It's just that some of them are posted in multiple parts instead of in their entirety.

Thanks, Jeff, for sharing that information. While he wasn't a member here, I took the liberty of adding that IP to the ban list on Friday out of an abundance of caution. The last thing I want to see is Coker's shitstorm to come over here. We don't need that here, and we certainly don't need the consequences of any shitstorm here either.

I do want to add that the races were made private. Doesn't necessarily mean they're actually gone. I think the video guys may have done it to make a point, Coker had been doing the copyright stuff to them for awhile it seems, as shown from the screenshots they posted. Even if he hadn't done it in last month or so, the way he acted when it all went down doesn't really make me feel sorry for him. His ego definitely needed a check, especially after some of the comments he made in those emails to me, taking pot shots at HSCR on his way out.

The races may pop back up after everything cools down.

And I would also imagine that some of the races are also unlisted as well (you can watch them but only a select audience can watch). I went through a playlist someone shared on Twitter and SMIFF's upload of the 1986 Daytona 500 is still online, but it's unlisted now.

SmiffTV has told his side of Cokergate

This is hopeful, Smiff has uploaded the 1979 Firecracker 400.

All of SMIFF's videos have appeared to have come back online. This was his last NASCAR race upload prior to the Cokergate blackout.

The above video was also TNN's last NASCAR telecast, and the Cup series debut of Ryan Newman.

It looks like they've all been unprivated now.

A rather well-done documentary chronicling the emotional roller coaster of Speedweeks '94.

How about THIS kind of quality for a 1983-vintage video!
(The audio does clear up just after the green flag)
