And this is why nascar has no clue, when drivers are too afraid to speak the truth because they'll be fined for pointing out nascars errors and nascar is too dumb to work out the difference between genuine feelings on an error of theirs and a driver who is insulting the series for no reason.

In indycar we had the media criticising the aero package at fontana DURING the race which was bizarre to me.
And while that ultimate hand wringing went on too long for me I'd still much prefer that open debate between fans, teams and media than nascar's heavy handed media spin doctoring.

And when they do actually hold a meeting with a council of drivers, Brian France doesn't give enough of a shit to show up.

I listened to the initial round of radio interviews immediately following the race. Hamlin, Harvick, Truex, and Dillon were all specifically asked about the aero package and they all blatantly dodged the question. The most I could gather was Hamlin mentioned it was hard to pass and at one point Dillon mentioned he had fun but neither of those responses were directly to the question about the package.

Unless there is some agreement among the drivers/teams to handle this issue discreetly, I'm wildly disappointed in this gutless bunch of sellouts. I wish someone would stick a mic in Stewart's face and ask him about it. As little as I like him overall, I appreciate that he doesn't give two shits about not speaking candidly about a racing issue.

I was away this weekend. On the way home I listened to the Cup race. The guys in the radio did all but say the package sucked. Rusty sounds a Fuck ton better on radio than in the tv booth... Race sounded shitty. Just finished the DVR of the Xfinity race... I know Tags was a bit off line in the last corner but Regan Smith laid into him and there was no stopping till Tags was pushed aside. Kinda bitch for a guy who was pissy about aggressive driving last week. I like Smith but that's a bitch desperate move.

Instead of watching the race I got up early with my girlfriend and we watched the sunrise, stayed for the air and water show, then went to a bbq with friends and had an amazing Sunday...nothing is more gratifying than knowing I didn't give Brian France, and these sell out pussy drivers any of my time yesterday. Try it guys...you'll feel so much better reading everyone bitch about how horrible it was the next day.

I built a greenhouse instead of watching the race, tuned in with 10 to go and promptly fell asleep at 9 to go.

Did I miss much?

I watched the rest of the race this morning on fast-forward. Even that was giving it more time than it deserved.

You don't need a degree in physics to understand how aero is going to affect the racing. It amazes me that a series that prides itself on action and entertainment has raced with such a crap package for so long.

How many Indycar races would an average NASCAR fan have to watch to realize how shit NASCAR is?
