Believe that car ran at Watkins Glen in 1992 (noting by the fuel filler on the right side of the car). Only race that year where that car raced with the B.R. Dewitt sponsorship.

local race for the B.R. Dewitt group as well so that would make sense.

If you're wondering why a lot of old racing clips disappeared recently, some killjoy was pissed about old NASCAR races being posted on YouTube. Apparently he thinks he owns the intellectual copyright to these races.

Lol that's pathetic... and also pretty illegal I imagine.

Jesus Christ

We need to petition NASCAR to hire SmiffTV to be their official classic race uploader like indycar does on a Thursday.
While also sueing the crap out of this Joker for his illegal home taping.

I see my old HSCR forum was posted as a screencap in the reddit thread. The guy ran the tape trader (or still runs) section of the board, I never minded because there was never much stupid shit going on at my board. Though with this shit going on, I may finally delete the board just to keep myself away from the whole ordeal. I haven't posted on HSCR in almost 2 years, and weeks go by now between posts.

I think it's always a bit silly to claim ownership of something you don't actually own... lord only knows how much the production companies spend on producing each telecast, only to have someone come along and say it's theirs.

You could just ban him and delete/lock the tape trading section. It would be a shame to lose the whole thing, as it's quite useful.

Anyway, here's another post on the subject that this guy made a couple of years ago:

His gloating about it last night (since deleted) may make me do just that.

For the Pimmy screenshot Matthew S told him the way it is, he deleted it, and this week thunder98 did the same, also deleted. There may be more. Also Smiff registered as a user on the board but he banned him.

I just got a long spiel from him on Facebook.

Pretty disappointing. I used to buy DVDs from him years ago (I lost them all in a burglary last year). I know a lot of people did (Dale Jr even got some from him).

This seems like a desperate attempt to make money. A lot of people don't even own DVD's any more, they watch things online. That's how it is. Also, he didn't actually have all the races I'd ask for and would trade with other people to get them for me, so the idea he "owned" anything is misguided.

What an absolute wanker, hope he gets sued by NASCAR and the broadcasters.

It also shows how broken the Youtube copyright claim system is.

Indeed. I haven't picked up any races from anyone online in probably 10 years. The last races I did get was a box of tapes of ARCA races from '97-'00 from some folks I knew up in Toledo back in 2015. As much as I would love to share them on YouTube, I don't really want to draw the ire of copyright owners.

Can we get Dale Jr to publicly shame this jerkoff?

Here's a rare oddity: Buddy Baker, Ron Bouchard, Tim Richmond, Dale Earnhardt, Cale Yarborough, and Jack Arute compete in a demo derby at Stafford.

This was the second ever race on a traditional road course in the top level of NASCAR.
