OK 7/10 race. Coulda been much worse. Coulda been better. That single file shit at the end was blue balls. I blame the package and not the track.

A lapper deciding the race is the exact sort of stupidity this one deserved.

don’t think we’ll see much different in Cup either, might get even more strung out.

Xfinity is going to be a farce isn't it?

Yup. People just wanted a repave, there was nothing wrong with the old configuration.

Lets give it a chance ffs. Theres a 0.25% chance it turns into a decent race. Lets not be so negative

It's great to have this track, but it shouldn't have come at the expense of the classic Atlanta, they should have built this anywhere else.

That said, I was really looking forward to this weekend and it didn't disappoint so far. Watching the races on mute with other things that are going on today and I'm okay with some single file runs.

I don't know how anyone could find this fun. Atlanta was a fun driver's track, now it's just wide open and boring.

It’s……. Different.

Not boring, not exciting, could get exciting though.

I suspect SMI will look at the Xfinity racing and say “job done” and then start to look at their other tracks to convert them to this configuration, at the end of the I agree with Soul, the track already had its own character and didn’t need reconfiguring, should have built this somewhere else.

Well they have form. They'd reconfigured Atlanta before to make it more like their other cookie cutters.

The only issue with pre '97 Atlanta was the wall on the backstretch. The racing itself wasn't that bad was it?

No it wasn't. A big, real 1.5 mile oval. Always liked that layout.

This was what I was going on about with the backstretch wall. How that had never been changed before then I don't know.

No, you're right, the wall was bad (so was Charlotte.)

I meant to answer, "No the racing wasn't bad on the old layout."
