Slayer was to sponsor the #54 car of Rick Ware Racing & JJ Yeley this weekend - however NASCAR did not approve, and the team was forced to remove the band's decals off the car. PODS will now be the car's sponsor

Long story short, there wasn't even a deal in place and Rick Ware wasn't comfortable with a heavy metal band from the 80s sponsoring the car.

That car owner is a tool. So who leaked the idea in the first place? Didn't sound like it was ever going to happen.

Too bad, that car looked awesome. They just needed to bring in ex ESPN analyst John Clayton and it would have been perfect.
