Look how happy he is.

I can't be mad at that.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Looked like Dillon went behind the yellow line to make a pass on the last lap coming off turn 2. Not real sure that 7th place finish is going to stand.

I saw that too. He had nearly half his truck below the line.

By the way, it was cool to see Carmichael actually get through a race with a decent finish without something fucked up taking him out. He was even pushing the 31 aggressively on that last run and didn't have an issue.

Yeah, and with everyone lined up on his bumper his only option was to just keep his foot in it or cause a crash. NASCAR doesn't always see it that way, but hopefully they have a little bit of good sense on this one.

Very, Very cool that Mike Wallace won. Only got to watch bits and pieces of the race. Laughed when Todd Bodine showed why Bodine's are just so Awesome. But yeah, very boring. Hope NASCAR finds a way to fix plate racing.

What could be done to stop the whole tandem drafting thing?

I think there are many things NASCAR can do...unfortunately, they usually look for the easiest route.

Seeing the trucks do it makes me wonder:

Was it something that was always possible, but nobody had ever tried?

Maybe they can try getting rid of the splitters, like Bobby Allison suggested?

Happy to see Mike win, hate to see the tandem drafting has infected the truck series too.

Not a fan of the tandem draft myself. No real ideas to fix it, unless NASCAR wants to stick a nice metal pole on the end of each truck, so whoever attempts to bump draft ends up with a busted radiator... but that's a bit much.

How about changing suspension rules so the cars get unsettled easier in the turns? Best I can understand, tandem drafting has been brought about by less surface bumps in the turns allowing drivers to take a smoother line while pushing, as well as advances in cooling. If they reintroduce the cars' nervousness in the turns through stiffer springs that could stop the pushing in the turns, which is the major difference between now and how it used to be.

I've always had this same thought since restrictor plate racing became dominantly two car tandems. I bet if you took two cars from the 90s and put them on a 2006 on after verion of Talladega, they would be able to do the same exact thing. The physics have always been there, it's just nobody ever knew it until about 4 years ago. Once they learned "hey, two cars can be faster than the entire pack if they are touching bumpers the entire way around" it was set up for everybody to improve on it from there on out.

NASCAR is not gonna put these guys back in packs anytime soon after what happened in Vegas, that's that.
