Do any of you guys have COMCAST?

The reason I ask is because I checked last year's schedule and the New Jersey road course race was not one televised on SPEED. However, I remember watching the race (pretty sure it was tape delayed) on The Comcast Network (TCN). It is a channel only found on COMCAST I think.

So that channel may televise some of the ARCA races, or just maybe the New Jersey event (being close to Philly and all).

Yeah, Kessinger and I drove up from Kentucky to Rockingham for the first ARCA race there a couple years ago and had a great time. It was too long a trip to do every year, but it's a shame it's not on the schedule anymore. (Rockingham should have all kinds of races since it's such an awesome track, but still)

It was a great time, we need to do another road trip soon. Maybe Winchester?

Oh, I saw a couple Slim Jim Racing mugs today at the peddler's market, and I instantly thought of you

Yeah, I think Jeff and I are planning on doing Winchester. You oughta come up with us. That'd be a solid road trip.

And please please please tell me you bought me one of those mugs. :flag:

That sounds like a plan. Do ya'll plan on coming straight back or staying the night somewhere?

And no, I did not buy them yet, but I put them in a place where no one will be buying them any time soon

Haven't planned that far ahead yet. I do know we'll probably take 71/75 up to Dayton so I can get some Tim Horton's Timbits, then head over to Indiana. Winchester doesn't have much in the way of hotels,it's about the same size as Salem, when I went to the race up there in 2007, I stayed in a hotel in Richmond,IN off I-70. Actually stayed at the same hotel as the Bowshers, got to meet them then.

I saw that ARCA will be heading to Mobile International Speedway for the first time next March for a 200 lap event. It looks like that track is making some big gains under Rick Crawford's watch.

Toledo replaced by Kansas for season finale = fail

Yeah. Hate seeing Toledo down to one race next year.

I'll be at both Salem races for certain, IRP,Winchester and Du Quoin are also pretty safe bets. I'll probably do Toledo as well, and I may consider using a vacation from work to go down to Talladega, since it's the same week as the first Salem race. That's 7 races for me if I do all them. Thought about doing Springfield as well this year...that's also a possibility.

For those wondering, Elko is a 3/8 mile track.

RANDOM ELKO MEMORY:

An ASA(?) race years back when a green car had spun out and come to a stop only to be plowed into and flipped over onto its lid.

Any idea what year? A friend of mine was an ASA(and ARCA) flagman for years back in the 70s and 80s. If it was back then, he may remember it.

Not that far back. I would say late 90s or early 00s. The race was on TNN or whatever they called it then.

EDIT: Russ Tuttle in 2002.

Wasn't Elko also the track where Adam Petty ran over his crew chief and unfortunately killed him in an ASA race?

Outside of St. Paul... I am guessing that is the track...

No, that was the Minnesota State Fairgrounds track.

I thought the car fell off the Jack's in the garage with him under it? I only heard about it two years ago, so I don't know the details.

Edit. Nevermind. My phone finally pulled up the right article.Sad stuff.

Milka Duno was fastest in single-car ARCA testing at Daytona today (186.016 mph).

Your freezing of hell may now commence.

Well single car testing is ALL car. Nothing against Milka (or anyone), but today's speeds are all about the guys working in the shop.
