Probably the most bizarre Speedweeks I've ever watched. And there's still 40 something laps to be run.

You know what the sad thing is?

Even if it wasn't directly his fault, THIS is what the typical NASCAR fan will remember Montoya's Cup career for: blowing up a fucking jet dryer at the Daytona 500.

Mixed feelings. I wanted racing, but I also wanted Blaney to win this.

It goes green, Blaney wins...and gets Tide sponsorship.

I'm sure you could drink it, I just doubt it will taste very good. :p

Also same here, I really would have loved Blaney to win this. If they go back racing, I fear someone far less likeable might go to victory lane instead. I guess we'll wait and see.

LOL

I had that horse in some pickem comp Simon is running, not because I like him but the Fords were bad fast in Q.

What are the current rules regarding speed limits under yellow? Wonder if we're going to see any kneejerk new rules?

This reminds me of Bristol March 96... In fact it was dear old DW who backed into the wall off turn 4. The race had been delayed and delayed by rain. He slams the wall in turn 4 and splits the gas tank. They were out there just like this hosing the track down after spending hours drying it. He crashed on lap 333, and after hosing the track and having to try it, the rains came back and they called it at lap 342 with Jeff Gordon winning. Anyone else remember that?? Or am I just old as hell.

Pace speed in the pack, no limit otherwise.

What we might see are extended yellows with the pits closed when the jet dryers are out on the track.
