You know it was a terrible race when two drivers going round at 100 mph after the race was more exciting

Obligatory "Kyle Busch should stop running the lower series on Sundays" joke.

If there's ever a picture that sums up how much the Brickyard 400 means now, this is it

Last year's Brickyard? I didn't watch that but not a bad guess I would think.

Didn't watch a second of this garbage and didn't miss a damn thing....they really need to scrap this "legacy at the Brickyard"...I guarantee at least 10,000 less fans will be there next year.

They showed quite a bit of old footage in the lead up to the race; there was a really noticeable drop in attendance between 2005 and 2009, and another between 2009 and this year.

It's an embarrassing looking crowd and I don't know why they persist.

most of them are probably diehards who would attend regardless of the state of the sport. and then you have the drivers' families and friends which make up the rest. i think most fans go to a nascar race to party and not watch the actual race.

From what I could see, most of the crowd this year was up in the season ticket holder area, which would match your statement. They're also the ones who can actually see a large portion of the track.

The only regret about both the GN race and the Cup race is that I didn't bet on Kyle Busch winning when I had the chance (since I was in Vegas for the weekend and all).

Had a question about Bloomquist. He ran the inaugural Eldora Mudsummer Classic in Kyle's truck and ran beyond terrible and never came back. Why? I was certain there was something horribly wrong with the setup of that truck so he would surely come back next year and so on.

the rumor I heard was that he tried throwing a DLM style set into the truck and it didn't stick.

don't think he has said anything in the media about coming back for it, I would assume he would rather focus on the Lucas Oil tour/other big LM races though. Plus I would assume the cost of renting a competitive ride for the Truck race is pretty pricey (especially with the amount of equipment torn up at Eldora)

Hmm, but you've got Pierce running the race so thought Bloomquist would surely atleast come back a second time to show he could get it done.
