The racing was good mid pack. Up front was just so spread out. I just don't know...

I think Brett Moffitt opened some eyes with the way he ran today. I think he'll get another opportunity soon.

This wreck had nothing to do with Bowyer being on 7 cylinders but why did he stay out? Was there any chance of him finishing better than he would have if he had pitted given the fact he was down a cylinder? It was a gamble he didn't need to take.

It put his teammate on the inside of row 2 on the restart.

The aero package they presented was great, so that drivers had to drive the car through the turns and watch when they picked up the throttle....

.....then they added the tapered spacer, which gives them less power going into the corners, making it easier to drive through corner entry and exit, PLUS forces them to keep the throttle pegged to keep up momentum, which is harder to regain if you do have to life.

Cover all the concrete walls you dolts!

The front straight has no SAFER barrier on the outer wall on the first dog leg before S/F. For fucks sake NASCAR, dig into the coffers a little bit and just pay to put the shit everywhere.

The rules package is terrible, but the tyres dropping off made the end of the runs interesting. Sadly NASCAR decided to throw a load of fake cautions rather than allowing lots of long runs and tyre wear.

I think the other cookie cutters will be far worse to watch. :(

They'd better actually listen to the drivers when it comes to the 2016 changes.

Turned on about lap 200, saw Harvick and Johnson going head to head. Then they threw a totally bullshit debris caution and it led to Denny wrecking and Gordon being taken out. What a joke.

According to Jayski

Number of 'mystery cautions' (debris not shown): 3

Heard some drivers say that the increased corner speeds was making it hard on tires. Atlanta now is like Darlington was back in the day, so it's not exactly the best look into the future, but I am hopeful that this will apply to newer surfaces as well. More tire fall-off is good.

I really didn't think the race was that bad - lots of stints where one guy was far and away the best up front, but there was still lots of passing and cars sliding all over the place. Again, I credit Atlanta's surface for that, more than the aero package... again, I think Vegas will be a better indication of how the changes will affect the quality of racing.

First non super speedway race I watched in a long time and it wasn't bad. Way too long, but not bad. They really shouldn't be racing 500 miles every week. 400 miles max for most races and only 500 miles a few times a year.

Yeah but there were 2 big ones...(or "The big TWO" i guess..) this year when there wasn't any big ones at all before, NASCAR must be patting themselves on the back for that I guess.

To give them credit the race was better than I expected, but that was mainly because I expected a 0/10 race, NASCAR kept the cautions coming out to prevent things getting spread out, and I still think the 2 doing a burnout in the mud while shredding his rear bodywork with his puncture was some cool Battlebots-esque shit.
