Sometimes I wonder, if the tarp is big enough to make an impact on TV (right angle, etc) and they can get a big sponsor interested in buying it as advertising space......
Could potentially the track make MORE money selling it off as advertising space rather than seating for fans?

Might well be a way they minimise the losses anyway, the bigger cookie cutter tracks seem to do this with the grandstands they either can't or won't sell.

What point of Harvick trying to turn the 2, thus losing them both a shot at the win, was supposed to be Brad's fault anyway?

Actually, Harvick preventing Keselowski from getting around the 48 was a great move, prevented him from getting locked in to Homestead.

That huge turn 2 grandstand at Charlotte has 20,000+ seats plus a fuckton of suites, and it's literally nothing but a giant billboard now.

Michigan took out all the stands from Turn 3 and Turn 4, now its pretty much just the front stretch stand.

I prefer a venue that looks full with 60k seats, than one that holds 150k seats and is 2/3 full.

Here's why NASCAR loves this.

I'm just glad Gordon said, "Dipshit" on live nationwide TV and none of the TV guys apologized for it.

Still, Brad didn't do anything wrong there. Went for the gap, Gordon was coming down... Racing deal.

Phoenix will be build up into this insane grudge match and Harvick will lead all but 20 laps in a snoozer with Gordon, Newman and Kenseth making the final 4.

If they want to promote a championship series where winning is everything, this is what's going to happen.

The fighting at the end of each race is predictable and embarrassing. A lot of the people involved were from the #5 and #27 teams.

who knew Kyle Busch's "I have more class then him" would start turning into a self-fufilling prophecy.

Brad needs to channel his inner Paul Tracy show up to Phoenix with a luchador mask on.

My take on the incident itself is you can't take the most convenient arc into a corner when you have to put on your best defense at the end of a race from a fellow title contender who's had just as good of a season as you and needs a win just as bad. I put that mostly on Gordon if not a simple racing incident.

As for the fight, good ole NASCAR, never change. Still better than using cars as weapons.

The local news only covered the fight and no on track activity at all.

NASCAR'S plan all along.
