For the 2nd time, a lot of series/tracks use one way receivers.

Oh hell, yes I know. I forget about the raceievers from the tower to the drivers. I don't consider that a radio as when most people are asking that question they're talking about communication with their crews. Pretty much all of the tracks and series use the one-way radio from the tower.

I shall edit my post.

It's still sad but really looks like something coming out from darwin awards, sorry if this seems too cynical for you.

It *is* pretty clear, however, that Ward stepped in the middle of the racing groove, just after the yellow flew (when cars were still going along at a nice speed), in order to angrily confront somebody.

- confront somebody that was still in a moving racingcar ( wich makes it pointless )
- on a banking track ( wich won't allow the oncoming driver to move left or right in order to avoid an obstacle like on a flat track )
- on a loose surface ( wich won't allow the oncoming driver to brake properly like on a tarmac surface )
- at night

it's like stupid move raised to a stupid move raised to a stupid move raised to a stupid move. As i said it's darwin award material there, teenagers are worldwide known to be doing stupid things from time to time, sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not.

It is ironic that Tony pioneered the helmet toss that probably inspired that poor kid to take his last steps. Damn shame, it is.

Just curious, what was the nature of Kevin's injuries? Main cause of death?

Hasn't been announced but I believe they will be doing an autopsy.

And the Olbermann thing is not a big deal. He was right to call BS on the original NASCAR tweet, and anyone that argued with him in a civil manner was treated with respect. The ones that just attacked him like assholes got the responses they deserved as well.

it was Laffite who first say Pryce on the aftermath, all I could say he dealt with it and kept going with his career

RIP to the driver, it was a total avoidable death, sadly it happened that way. Luckily in US they don't forget those who got perished and improve things day by day

Think I read somewhere that broken neck was suggested, definitely possible from the way he was dragged and thrown.

Apparently Tony didn't have an on-board, but there was a video from another angle that has been reviewed. The one that I'm trying to understand is this: "Sheriff Povero would not comment on anything pertaining to toxicology, at the request of the DA."

Yeah that is a strange one. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that Ward might have been on some medication that the DA doesn't want people to spin in crazy angles.

So, Dave Moody, how do you feel about the media covering this tragedy?

Did you listen to the clip?! He was pretty much doing the exact opposite of what you said.
