Anyone who spins 3 times in a race is going to get bitched out.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Greg Biffle is on top of the leader board right now in this added practice with a 195 MPH lap. Did the tires really make that much of a difference?

Well they were always going to slow down in race trim. Seems like a reasonable race pace IMO.

Well, it began after the lap one spin (as far as I could tell), and while I didn't watch the race any more than on the NASCAR.com leaderboard, she did make it back up to 8th on a track that, according to all you guys, no passing was happening. *shrugs*

But yeah, after three spins, it's just not her day, obviously.

Like Paul said, at least you're equal opportunity complainers.

Question: Does a race automatically become shitty when someone people unanimously hate/don't care for wins it, even if the rest of the race is good?

Personally, it wasn't that bad, considering Joey could've won by a wide margin like any other Nationwide race.

You'd think so. It's not that way to me, necessarily, though my opinion of the race is tarnished a bit.

I don't look back on the 2008 Aaron's 499 at Talladega that fondly because of Kyle Busch winning and being robbed of a green-flag finish, but I recall that race being pretty kick ass.

2 competition cautions. Lap 20, and 45.

Quote:
Kurt Busch has heated exchange with reporter: #51-Kurt Busch's troubles with the media continued on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Busch had a brief, heated exchange with ESPN reporter Marty Smith after Saturday's Nationwide Series race at MIS, a week after serving a one-week suspension for making threatening comments to Sporting News reporter Bob Pockrass after the Dover Nationwide Series race. Busch, on orders from Sprint Cup team owner James Finch, avoided talking to reporters upon arriving at MIS on Thursday. But when he finished third in the race won by Joey Logano on Saturday, he had to make a mandatory appearance in the media center. As he waited to be interviewed, an MRN Radio pit reporter said on the live broadcast that Busch left the top-five area without interviewing. Busch was told of the comment and replied, "That's what everybody says, don't they." Busch then left the room to cool off. Several reporters, including Smith, with a camera crew, followed. Busch then told Smith to come over with his camera. When Smith got there, Busch said he wasn't doing interviews there, adding, "You ever hear of sarcasm?" That led to a brief exchange during which Busch said, "You don't know how long I've been working on this."(see full post at ESPN.com)(6-17-2012)

Quote:
#51 Team votes to keep Busch:
When NASCAR team owner James Finch announced he would retain Kurt Busch as driver of his #51 Chevy, he noted that the reason was quite simple: The team's crew members voted to keep Busch. Intrigued as to exactly why they voted that way, [ESPN's Marty Smith] sought those Phoenix Racing crewmen out for answers. What heI got was an eye-opening explanation of the value of elite talent in NASCAR racing, from a group of gritty, no-nonsense racers who aren't apt to care about being cussed or chided -- and are oddly inspired by it. The #51 crew painted a completely different picture of Busch than that which we see during the tirades and the meltdowns and the tantrums. They discussed a guy who is willing to get his hands dirty right alongside them, who rides with them to testing sessions, and who buys them beers at the bar. And who can drive better than anyone else.(see quotes by crew chief, GM and others at ESPN.com)(6-17-2012)

What did he ask to piss Kurt off? If a man wants to be left alone, it's best to keep it that way.

That being said, I think Kurt should show a bit of professionalism.

Sounds more like the media are trying to bait him into doing\saying something stupid.

In Kurt's defense ESPN "reporters" (aside from Dr. Jerry Punch) are a bunch of tools.

ESPN always seem to piss off drivers, whether its in the IRL or NASCAR. I remember last year or year before last the one tall goofy one was trying to stir shit up between Juan Montoya and someone at Pocano and Montoya just looked at the guy and went off on him about trying to cause a conflict.

Oh well, one can hope FOX steps it up and gets more races whenever the next TV contract is up.

Well it's raining and wet as fuck at the track. Like yesterday in the Indy race though, the radar looks fine behind this. Won't be racing until at least 2:30 I would guess.

This ought to make things even trickier with all the rubber washed off the track. Hope the tires can still hold up.

There's a pretty good Continental Tire race on SpeedTV right now, if you're interested.

Fucking Rain, always falling where it's not wanted and never where its needed.

Look for a bone dry, boring Valencia Grand Prix next week and for Iowa and wherever NASCAR is to be rained off. :(

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich

And give up their lucrative NFL contract? Not likely.

Perhaps they can go back to the old FOX/TNT split-season deal.
