Don't you just hate it when the outside guy doesn't use up all the room on the exit like he's expected to

It was yellow fever at Syracuse yesterday. Something like 1/3 of the race was run under yellow. A lot of caution isn't unusual but that much was ridiculous. Dustiest I've ever seen it to which contributed to the mess. But, all in all, a good final time on the mile. Wife had a great time and we won two pieces at the silent auction. Both Keith Flach parts. His roof and door panel and both signed.

Super Dirt week was the most awesome racing event I have ever been to. If it was still being held at the Fairgrounds I would go back every year. The atmosphere was like Cup race while the track itself was a throwback to the 70s. The visibility from the stands was poor, the walls were falling down in some places, and safety seemed like an afterthought, it was like going back in time. I suppose the track is a dinosaur compared to newer facilities but it had so much character, so much history, and was so unique. It's painful that they're tearing it down, but I'm glad I got to experience it at least once.

Here's a few photos I took from Sunday's action:

James Friesen has been DQ'ed from his Sportsman win on Sunday for a illegal engine. This gives Rocky Warner the race win now

Glad you had a good time. SDW was an event that even when it sucked, it was awesome. The place always drew you back. It was one of those events where, if you went once you'd be hooked. After so many years of going, you wind up just looking past all it's deficiencies and come to realize that 'Cuse is 'Cuse. Holes in the wall, death defying pit road, antiquated amenities, price gouged food, etc. None of that really mattered at the end of the day because this was SuperDIRTWeek on the Moody Mile and there was nothing else on the planet quite like it.

Nothing, no track, no race, can replace what The Mile was. The way the end came about was sad and pathetic, but for one last Sunday in October the Mile rocked.
