Would it be considered hypocritical for NASCAR to penalize MWR for "manipulating" the outcome of a race when NASCAR themselves have been guilty of this for years with their invisibris cautions?

not overreacting in this situation IMO. team orders have happened before in nascar but this was just over the top and had huge implications for other drivers who had nothing to do with it. but let's see what nascar does about it in the press conference |

These things have always been punished by effect more than action, and the effects of this are massive - making the chase is huge for teams in sponsor negotiations, and for every team member in contract negotiations. This is nothing like the Jr and Menard examples mentioned earlier, it's much much bigger. |
