That’s such an aggressive response that I can’t help but wonder if Danica knows something we don’t. But if the PR response is really all that triggered this…yikes. I get the sentiment but jeez.

Danica's gonna Danica. She'll always be a self-centred bitch.

Yeah she’s always been like that, flying off the handle at the slightest provocation.

Whatever's going on with Shelly and MTJ, that's none of our business. And Martin seems like he rather keep his private life...well, private.

Danica not knowing when to shut the fuck up, why am I not surprised...

Danica is one of those drivers that I wish faded into obscurity after retirement. But we get this and TV that likes putting her in front of a camera with a microphone so she can offer her "analysis".

All-Star race is returning to North Wilkesboro next year, and the Brickyard 400 is back on the Indy oval (rectangle, let’s have it right).

Interesting to note they have a NASCAR Classics YT page with selected races, and one of them is not available on the main website; the 1965 Southern 500, which includes the fatal crash of Buren Skeen.

Either they might quietly drop the '01 500 on YT in the future, or this was a one-time oversight by the admins. (I imagine this wouldn't have been uploaded at all if not for the fact that this was the same race that Cale Yarborough famously flew out of the ballpark and Ned Jarrett's record-setting 14-lap margin of victory)

Quick addendum: They set the above race to private, but not before uploading another offender: the 1965 National 400 from Charlotte with Harold Kite's fatal crash. Went live last night as a public video, then went private a few hours later.

Why they even upload it in the first place is beyond me.... :tumble:

It’s likely that the person doing the uploading has been handed a box of tapes and told to upload them to YouTube, they probably don’t know the history of the sport or the significance of certain events and likely don’t care because they’re probably and intern working for a PR company not NASCAR themselves.

To be fair if you watched the videos you may not know that there was a fatality. I didn't see the one with the Kite crash but they didn't mention that Skeen died even though it was probably broadcasted after he'd passed away.

It's official, the Cup race at Iowa will be a night race on June 16. There will be an ARCA race and an Xfinity Series race that weekend as well.

Nice, but I wonder if people will feel a just a tad bit scorned about NASCAR finally budging on a Cup race for their world-class, Cup-ready short track despite clamoring for a date 10-15 years ago.

I just worry what kinda horrible changes they'll demand that'll fuck up the Indycar race there.... :tumble:

it should be okay

the track is rough as hit and abrasive as hell, NASCAR tends to not touch those tracks purposely

best bet is that now NASCAR is in town that it'd get folks from HyVee or whoever else in town less interested in funding the IndyCar show

Hailie Deegan is moving to the Xfinity Series next year.

https://www.jayski.com/2023/10/05/hailie-deegan-signs-multiyear-deal-with-am-racing-to-compete-in-xfinity-series/

I don't know how well this is going to go because she hasn't exactly set the world on fire in the Truck Series.

IIRC she did better on her Xfinity debut last year than in every other Truck race that year bar one or two, apparently the Xfinity suits her driving style much better.

Yeah, I don't think much of her at all based on her Trucks performance but that Xfinity race definitely stuck out in my mind. Didn't she also finish a strong 2nd place in one of the SRX dirt races? Maybe she just doesn't have the knack/confidence in the throttle-heavy Truck equipment.

Either way, we'll find out.

I think it’s also Trucks seems to be full of people who massive egos and chips on their shoulder and they just don’t give her any slack so she often gets caught up in other peoples crashes, and I though that before the fight after Talladega which essentially confirmed to people Trucks is full of dicks lol.

Xfinity is a bit more “I’m trying to make a career out of this and want to get to Cup” not the “I’ve driven for (aka been sacked by) more Cup teams than you’ve had hot dinners” attitude in Trucks.
