Was more kind of a 1/4 spin but I don't think we truly understand the severity of the situation. He potentially could have spun through the grass maybe, and that might have put some grass on the track which could have possibly made a situation which wouldn't have been favorable so NASCAR waited until he was under complete control and then threw the yellow as a precautionary so that Marcos could regather his emotions and not be preoccupied so he wouldn't be a hazard for the next lap when he did come onto pit road.

That or NASCAR thought the field needed to be bunched back, but I'm leaning favorably to the first option.

You're correct. We're just debating how much they could have learned from Daytona and applied to Phoenix, thus trying to explain how his comments were quite premature.

When I yellow flag someone at work when they're sliding around looking like they're going to spin, but then don't, I withdraw the yellow flag and wave people on.

With NASCAR's mentality I should wave the yellow flag regardless because I was right to protect the karters from the dangerous oversteer moment of one of their kin and I must never admit I was wrong.

Don't forget all that terrible amount of tyre smoke that the car threw off as it was sliding for 2 whole seconds, could've BLINDED the entire field behind and caused the first Las Vegas big one!
