On a weekend where NASCAR is bearable, it has to go head to head with the biggest endurance race in the world. :(

If NASCAR ever decided on an off-week on the same week as Le Mans, that'd be a very good thing.

The race is actually after Le Mans is over.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of the Nationwide race, Chris. :)

Some more stuff to be sad about...

Why isn't the ARCA race being televised? :(

Why is the Nationwide race starting so damn late in the evening? (5 p.m. eastern) Do, the idiots at NASCAR not realize how long it has taken to run this race over the years. If it gets flagged early for darkness, I riot. :(

It doesn't truley get dark until about 8:30pm there on Saturday...they've got 4 and a half hours to run the race.

Is Arca seriously not being televised? That's a damned crime...

Especially considering a NASCAR series is at that track on the same weekend. As much as I don't like it, I understand it when a race at Salem or Winchester isn't televised since it costs money to bring a camera crew to the track, but there's already cameras there for Nationwide this weekend. I swear if I ever won the lottery the first thing I'd do is pay to have all the ARCA races on TV.

And truthfully, if it takes that long to the run the race due to cautions, I would rather the race get called early than have to suffer through pace laps at this track.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be cool to see some of those guys run at Le Mans?

I still don't think that would make me anywhere near capable of or interested in sitting through more than a few hours of it.

Now that I've had to drop SPEED (Financial reasons, obviously), I'm not sure how much of Le Mans I'll be able to watch.

For me, going through the hassle of finding a reliable stream on my laptop just isn't as enjoyable as simply flopping on the couch and watching it on TV, at least when it comes to Le Mans.

You've never watched the race on skype with drunk (and sleeping) forum members talking inanely through the boring bits (mainly the night when all you see is pit lane) have you?
Only way to watch Le Mans imo.

For everything I've heard from other people...it's highly obnoxious.

Thing is, it depends on which network is there. In this case, it is ESPN, who don't cover ARCA. If there was a companion truck or Grand-Am race, the ARCA race would have probably been covered as all those series are covered by SPEED/FOX.

Other people?

Lawks, they're not talking about us now are they? :(

Its not like everyone at the track is stoically sitting there filling out their lap charts, I think its in the spirit of proceedings :p

Oh well, offer's there. Anyone is welcome

To UK viewers, I think Premier Sports are having a bit of a freeview weekend, including this race.

Looks like they ended up getting some dry running in after that: http://www.jayski.com/nationwide/2013/p ... 3prac2.pdf

Quite the interesting practice sheet. Really looking forward to this one.

Boris Said's in the Cup race?

That's who everyone should be afraid of. Not Villeneuve.

btw... Hendrick Ford? Unusual.

Cool.

Quote:
Kennedy could return to #19 team:
Is there a possibility of seeing Alex Kennedy run more Cup races this season?
"Possibly. You never know what can happen from this. I know Watkins Glen is still open for debate. I know you will see us in a couple more races, I'm sure. Whether they're Cup or Nationwide, we don't know yet. We'll have to play it by ear. We will look at the rest of the year after this event and this weekend."
Will Sunday's effort be a fully funded race, or will we see the #19 car pull off the track early?
"No, this Sunday's race will be a full-on, 100% effort. I wouldn't do my debut if it was going to be a start and park. We have a fully funded effort, a fully funded race car, and we are going to race it as hard as we have to."(Racing Experts)(6-22-2013)

Unless someone was around in the very early days, I believe Kennedy is the first fellow Alex to race in the Sprint Cup level

Bo Lemastus had an off in ARCA practice yesterday it seems:

Another backup car for that team, they're gonna be lucky to have anything left at year's end, he's already wrecked all their short track cars.

Victor Gonzalez stuffed it in turn 10, backup for sure.
