Barely watched any of that. Ended up doing other things, like watch Supercar quali.

I didn't watch the all-star race but I've heard this after each of the past 10 all-star races. Maybe they should say "enough is enough" and just pull the plug on the race. Or move it someplace else.

This was the first all star race I've ever watched. And I think it will be the last one

Agree completely. I cannot figure out why NASCAR stuck with it. It makes the car so aero sensitive and a real bitch to fix if you tear it up slightly (compared to the old 'valance' type front ends on the Gen-4 cars).

Like most other forms addicted to aero it's probably the engineers that lobby against it, I'd imagine it's relatively simple to setup these cars to run fast because they just have to set them up around the splitter and side skirts and let the air do the rest, take those comfort blankets away and the engineers and drivers would actually have to work for their money.

This is not untrue. I've also heard about successful lobbying by the eggheads keeping many bad ideas from dying. Question is why does NASCAR do that when they know it's hurting the sport?

Because NASCAR is run by a moron who believes everything he's told, I'm surprised he's never considered running for office, he'd make a great politician.

Plus there always seems to be a major resistance to change in big organisations, they always seem too scared to try anything new, usually because if it was successful they'd have to admit their way of doing something was wrong, more so than being scared of failure.

didn't watch the All Star race last night, I hear it was a trainwreck?

-

can't get it to quote right -

I believe the engineers want it, primary reason I believe.

they might be on more than just top-3 NASCAR cars soon as well, as Five Star is trying to get splitters approved on their updated ABC template body for Super Late Models due to loss of front downforce & balance with the nose being higher :(

This ARCA battle between Burton and Sargeant is great.
