It's the Martinsville effect. Slow tracks = less aero dependency = less dirty air = more close racing = more passing + more contact, as damaged aero not an issue.

It will all go down the shitter should they ever decide to run big, fast aero tracks, of which there are thankfully none in Canada.

Only time they ever share a date with any of the Big 3 series is when the Trucks come to Mosport.

40 trucks on the Eldora entry list. Finally heat races that mean something again

Believe it or not I think that's the biggest entry list they've ever had for Eldora for the Trucks. It's been 34-35 the last few years, and never more than 37 or 38.

It sounds like BK Racing might have a new owner soon. I read that GMS Racing president Mike Beam has put in a bid for the team.

If they don't apply the same substance abuse rule they use with the drivers, then there's something very wrong with NASCAR.

Apart from all the wrongs they have already.

Good. Fuck him.

Remember the "WE RUN THIS TOWN!!" pull over from a few years back in Florida?!?

What a dipshit. NASCAR is wasting hours here not sacking him ASAP. Such behaviour is unacceptable, especially when you are the leader of a major motor racing organisation!

Dude needs clinical help. It's clear that he's not been right for a long time.

Gotta want to stop first. This is his second go with DUI and I see that the stakes are raised with some righteous Oxy's. Copious booze coupled with lines of opiates is usually a good concoction to hit bottom.

I agree that if NASCAR doesn't follow it's own policy with him then they truly are lost. On a personal note, I do sincerely hope he seeks help.

Brian France takes a leave of absence, Jim France to step in

As hard as this is to admit for me, and I'm comfortable these days, I have been arrested for a DUI. It was a absolutely stupid move on my part that I will forever regret. I was in shambles for weeks, not only because I didnt know what to expect but thinking of how reckless that was on my part and how I could have impacted innocent people. I cried in my own self pity which was selfish. I took it as a chance to learn and improve myself. I lost my license for 4 months. I bought a bicycle and found a new hobby. What I did was ridiculous. Do I have a drink here and there? Yes, but I will NEVER get behind the wheel again even after 1. One has to reflect, learn and want to progress. I was lucky, after $5k in fees, classes, and absolute humility. Unfortunately not everyone feels the same.

I haven't been busted for DUI, but about 2 years ago my cousin was in an accident with a distracted driver; she was stopped at the red light, he was looking down at his phone and slammed into the back of her with his truck. Her 6 month old daughter was in the back seat, and now has permanent brain damage and mobility issues. Thinking about that pretty quickly turns me off any thought of having a drink and getting behind the wheel, or using a phone while driving.

I commend you. I couldn't do it. The sauce got the best of me at one point in my life. Had to hang it up for good.

Regardless of the shambles the damn fool has left NASCAR in, I hope he takes this as an opportunity to get it together. The path he's walking is not a pretty one.

Hopefully the Gen 7 body does something better with the greenhouses, because these sedans look so goofy as coupes. We're almost into funny car territory with proportions.
