The only answer is spec cars. Go full IROC and just have the driver salary to deal with like stick n ball sports. People hate to hear it and want innovation to thrive but this is 2018, not 1952 when Smokey Yunick could find ten ways to cheat, I mean innovate, his cars every week. Almost every vehicular trick in the book is known to everyone and the only innovation left to find anymore is in microscopic gains that cost a fortune in wind tunnels and an army of eggheads deciphering simulations.

I kind of had a sense this Lowe's news was coming. I work for Lowe's and the thought was that they were going to get out after the previous contract or two expired. It's going to be very strange not seeing Jimmie Johnson in a Lowe's car next year.

Anytime where teams could spend millions just to improve compressed air-powered impact wrenches just to shave tenths of a second in pit stops, there's a problem (hence, the spec impact wrenches). And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Monster commit to 2019 but are likely gone after that.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

2015 Brazil Stock Car champion Marcos Gomes will make his debut in NASCAR K&N East Series this weekend at Bristol.

He wants to tighten ties with NASCAR's universe in order to try higher divisions in a near future. Good luck Marcos, he has my total support! Last year, when I was in Interlagos for the final round of Stock Car Brazil, I greeted him and Cacá Bueno and told them they should try NASCAR. Looks like Marcos decided to take my advice forward. :D

Ford going all out with the Mustang now. 2 series announcements in 1 day (NASCAR Cup & Supercars)

also nice to see that it's confirmed that the VASC body will look 100 times better than the NASCAR version that features a spec greenhouse thus making it look like a weird 4 door.

Shame, NASCAR could probably make the greenhouse sleeker if Toyota weren't the odd one out running a Camry.

NASCAR moving the Truck / Modified doubleheader at Bristol to Thursday night. Truck race will be on FOX instead of FS1 now as well.

(not gonna lie, was hoping the Mod race would stay on Wednesday, given the race's horrid luck to actually go full distance)

Good exposure for the Truck Series to race on a Thursday night on FOX rather than FS1.

This was a bit of a shock when I read it in the paper in the morning. The reason the Trucks and Mods was held on Wednesday night to start with was so our company could have our event on Thursday night with driver autographs.

It will be interesting to see what happens to our event.

The last three years at least, the Trucks/Mods race has been weather affected. I will laugh my ass off when in August, Wednesday night will be perfect weather wise and Thursday will be piss pouring rain and thunderstorms.

I know a lot of people don't like Matt but, it's good to see him back. Strange he would boot Bayne out for a few races rather the drive a 3rd car. But it's not like Bayne is in competition to win races on a weekly basis.

I wonder if it's a medical issue for Bayne.

My first thought was that they were having Kenseth in to sort of "assess" the program and help them along, since Stenhouse is 50 points ahead of Bayne.

You'd think maybe it is down to assessing the program, I dunno that Bayne's MS could be a factor.
