I hope they don't take it from New Hampshire. I like going to NH. The attendance is hit or miss but has gotten better since 09/10. Plus I don't want it replace by yet another 1.5 mile track... If anything, I'd vote for giving up a Texas race. That track is all sorts of meh.

I can't imagine NASCAR taking away a race from Charlotte. Where is the HoF located again? See my point? One more opportunity every year to pack the town with NASCAR fans, many who will spend money at the HoF.

Pocono (and Dover iirc) are the only non Smith/France owned tracks left, so unless they sell up, they're safe, they'll probably take it from New Hampshire.

How about killing the Brickyard 400 - that race's novelty wore off over a decade ago, the crowds are crap, the racing is crap and its nothing more than a cash cow

NASCAR-E; featuring: Tesla, Prius, and Volts!

Forget having weddings at the race track, it will be so quiet you can even have your funeral service in the infield at Bristol!

You'd have thought they'd want to make it hard for fans to talk about how boring the racing is :whistling:

This wouldn't be a horrible idea if it were it's own entity IMO. Like, a sort of modernized reincarnation of the Goody's Dash Series.

Don't think they haven't thought about it, NASCAR is such a copycat sport.

2 things.......

1) Las Vegas Motor Speedway has an announcement scheduled for 5:30pm ET tomorrow to most likely announce its 2nd Cup date. Most likely RIP 2nd NHMS date. Ironic since it came at the expense of North Wilkesboro....

2) the CMS fall date will be on the oval and most likely moved to the RC for 2018 as the track will upgrade the RC and track interior.

So that'll be 6 1.5 mile tracks in the Chase - so much for variety :slaphead:

I know Loudon isn't the most popular track on the forum here, but it's a unique track and always had good crowds. Here we are once again removing a one of a kind track in favor of a bland one. Personally, I'll miss the fall race at NHMS. I've attended that race more than any other on the calendar and I've always found the facilities to be nice and the tailgating scene to be surprisingly good.

It also shined a spotlight on the mods, which get some of their only good TV attention on the cup NHMS weekends.

Most likely the Fall Charlotte race will be on the road course so it'll stay at 5 1.5 mile tracks.

That said, fuck, I love going to NHMS. It's set in the woods and just has a nice, New England feel. We've been talking of going camping there for one of the race weekends next year. The crowds have gotten better there since 2009. Ugh, this means 1 date instead of 2 and prices will likely go up.

I always liked New Hampshire. Would have rather they take a second date from Texas or Kansas rather than NHIS. At least they didn't take the Atlanta date.
