He's been doing that most of his career.

THIS time, the crew really did cost Harvick the win.

I was at a gathering with friends on Sunday as the Truck race was happening, and I couldn't friggin' believe the finish when I saw it. I was a fan of his father's, and by association was greatly anticipating watching John Hunter's rise, but this just makes me feel dirty. There's bumping and beating and banging for the win, but that was just ugly, and there's nothing to be proud of.

Ironically, I felt the exact same way about Chase Elliott, and the way he just flat dumped Ty Dillon at Mosport three years ago made me feel exactly the same way. I got over it relatively quickly, but this one was even nastier than that.

Having talent in this sport is one thing, but having respect is another thing altogether. It's gonna be a while before JHR gets some.

Haven't been on here recently, dame some really great races and winners the last two weeks. JHN lost a lot of credibility in the NASCAR circle, but shit, that was one of the best side by side finishes you'll ever see. Surprised they didn't give the win to Custer though, especially since he needs the win and drives for NASCAR's fav Dale Jr. I always liked JHN a lot and always felt he would be a great Champion, but he needs to grow up FAST or he'll never make it out of the Truck series. Last six NASCAR winners were Moffitt, McDowell, Larson, Nemecheck, Sadler and Truex...with a bonus of Ben Kennedy and Justin Marks...one of the best string of winners I can ever recall.

I just hope, like Chase, they'll be able to move past it and JH will develop past moves like that.

Everybody wanted Chase's head after his incident in the same corner, people seem to be ok with him now.

I think a lot of fans saw what Kyle Larson did at the Battle at the Beach in 2011 (IIRC). That was dirty, but that incident's long forgotten now that he races clean and respectfully. Fast forward 5 years...here we are.

That incident was my first real exposure to Larson and obviously it left a bad taste in my mouth. I hated it at the time. He took a lot of heat for it and now races pretty clean for a young guy. As you said, FF 5 years and now everyone loves him.

Unless JHN keeps it up, people will move on and forget as well. (Although, now that the term "NemeCHECK" has been coined for checking someone into the wall at the finish, this one might stay fresh in our memory...)

This is the lamest argument

Larson had already signed a full time Xfinity ride with Ganassi. He had nothing to prove. This move didn't "put him on the map." It was just a dick move. Plain and simple. Gray Gaulding did the same thing at that event and it really worked wonders for him!

To be fair, the Battle at the Beach were some of the dumbest races I've seen in my entire life and I used to watch Polish Speedway races on Polivision back before I had cable in Chicago.

Those were the best races of the speedweeks. A real shame that they didn't had the balls to keep that track layout for next year. We would have both things that define Nascar in one place. Banging at short tracks and close superspeedway racing.

I will agree that has been a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, most photo finishes either keep at a constant speed or build up. This one literately grinds nearly to a halt.

Hopefully then you are all happy with the progressive banking at Bristol then. :P

Also richmond. They turned that battle at the beach from a great Martinsville like track to a Richmond boredom. If it was a little to easy to bump-and-run, didn't have to go all the other way.

At the same time, Steve Park won one of them, so it wasn't all bad.
