Hah. There'll be a new format next year anyway. If this flops, I say just do away with it entirely.

Isn't it kind of expected now that the all star will be a different format every year? :?

NASCAR is still missing the boat on why people love all-star events: BECAUSE THEY'RE FUN. In stick-and-ball sports, the majority of people watch all-star events for the offense, when loosely translated into NASCAR, means actual racing. Make the event somewhere between 20-50 laps in something comparable to IROC cars, have a random draw for starting order, and be done with it.

This.

Run em in ACT Late Models on the 1/4 mile.

The new All-Star Race format... what's the point in racing hard the first 2 segments knowing it's a random drawn for the last segement? Seems like another "ride around" then race 13 laps format... hope I'm wrong on that though.

I'll be attending all the races that week. Looking forward to another good one in the truck race like last year with Kahne and Jones.

How come the lower 2 series don't have an All-Star event?

Heres an idea: take the top 5 or 10 guys from each series (including k&n) and make them race eachother in equal equipment.

I would like to see Timmy in a good ride just once. Anyone who can get multiple top 10s in Rock Ware's junk cars obviously has talent.
