the Big Block race just got finished at Oswego, good thing they cut it down 100 laps because the attrition rate was insane. Some good battles between Sheppard, T-Mac and Friesen, all who finished should think about running the Baja 1000 later this year though.

Wait, what is Rolling Wheels 2? The fb comments seem to indicate that it is a new, stand-alone, larger than 5/8 mi track in the Syracuse area.

I think it's just going to be like the 2nd coming of Rolling Wheels. If they make it a true 5/8 that would be nice. Someone measured it and it's just a smidge over a half mile at .55 or something.

I was at Oswego for SDW from Weds-Sun... It was... Um... Well... Let's just say DIRT didn't help themselves any. Worst track conditions I've ever seen. Most, if not all the cars in the 200 had broken parts. Brett Hearn, who finished second, said in his interview he was just grateful to be alive. They probably should never have raced but the guys knew what the track was and chose to keep running. My opinion was it was way too dangerous to race on and that DIRT got EXTREMELY lucky to not have a driver(s) or fan(s) seriously injured. Big chunk of clay made it about 12 rows up in the back stands around mid way.

They may have a signed contract for next year, but I will be SHOCKED it SDW is back at Oswego... I'll actually be shocked if they have it all and don't just say fuck it and kick the whole shebang to Charlotte.

I was wondering if you had attended. I tried following it on twitter and every other time I checked it was under red.

Two big wrecks in the 200 brought out the red. There were three red flags in the Friday qualifying races including two hard shots into the T1 boiler plate. Big Pro Stock wreck brought out the red for half an hour and there was a hard crash into the T3 steel in the 358 race that led to a red flag.

Haven't seen that much tore up stuff at one track in a long time.

It's not shocking to me, just sad. I don't see many of the southern tracks that do get a race sticking after a couple years, given the travel costs for the Northern teams too.

meh, the southern tour is pretty useless anyway.

they got waxed by rob fuller at thompson when they ran that combined event a few years back.

The northern teams have always been superior compared to the southern counterparts though, can't deny that.

I think there will be some positive outcomes overall for both regions. Hopefully the NWMT is able to get more support & resources now. And that the southern region is able to get some stability to build on (3 tours + 1 weekly track in the region just wasn't going to work in the long term with how things are now).

Matty Shepard just laid a beating on them down there. That boy has put up incredible numbers this year.

I wish they were able to run this next year. ACT rules means we have to run that body, and it would look awesome.

I mean ideally I wish the ACT would switch to the FiveStar Camaro/Mustang/Challenger bodies but yeah.
