Well, on the off chance that there's a just and loving god, NASCAR in its current form will be dead and buried within 5 years.

I wonder how long it takes before they get rid of the Chase format? International wreck at Homestead to decide the title?

They were gagging for that last year. I doubt they would be too disappointed if it actually happens. Only way to pop a rating nowadays.

Funny thing is that, with Indycar's significant ratings improvement this year, there is not a lot of room between the two anymore, especially when NASCAR's on channels like NBCSN and FS1...

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Imagine the ratings when Jooyner retires! NASCAR needs to somehow make Logano their pin-up guy but I just don't see that coming.

never happening unfortunately because NASCAR wants that kind of drama. :yuk:

remember this is the sanctioning body that had a competition caution with 10 laps to go for Martinsville's late model race to "make it more exciting" (which they finally got rid of this year)

The only way this is going to get better is if we stop watching...this shit is just too painful to sit through anymore. I pledge every member here doesn't watch any more Cup races this year. I know I'm not. Took 28 years, a million threats to quit watching in the past and so many fucks ups from the suits of the sport for me to finally see the light how dumb this shit has become. I'll probably tune into some stand alone Truck and Xfinty races as those still hold some sort of entertainment value for me...but this Cup drama is too much to bare. Theres nothing in this for me anymore except a headache, I really hope NASCAR crashes and burns to the ground.

If I were them, I'd market the fuck out of Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson.

The 22 is definitely the best car right now.

As for the bitching about Nascar. Yeah they fuck up shit more than something can Fuck shit up, but in no way am I going to stop watching. NASCAR has been Nascaring it up their whole existence. Imagine the bitching debate if they had those stupid pit rules they had years ago where certain cars could only pit on certain laps... Yeah....

C'mon man, NASCAR could castrate you with a rusty knife and you'd still be telling us it's worth watching.

I know it's not, but "Junior Nation" I'm sure will never like Logano, they aren't the most logical of fans either. True those Red/Blue pit stops in 1991 were just as if not more dumb than anything going on today..difference, the officiating body owned up to the stupid idea and did away with it, the current leaders of the sport are much too dense to ever admit something is wrong.

I never said others had to continue to watch. If stepping away is what a person chooses to do then so be it. I just simply said I would continue to watch and what NASCAR is doing is what they've always done. I will completely agree with many people that NASCAR is getting a bit ridiculous but that's NASCAR for you.

There's a difference between what they're doing now and what they've done before. Not all forms of change are the same.

True. Well hopefully the rules package next year brings a sliver of hope... maybe?

So a single car spin at Richmond brought about penalties and cheating accusations, yet wrecking several cars at a faster circuit is totally cool?

I am also done with NASCAR this year. Martinsville is one of my favourite tracks, but I just don't care. This Chase crap has taken over from just putting on a good show of good racing. I'll give next season another go because of the low downforce package, but I can honestly say this is the worst season of racing I've ever seen. I don't think that's rose tinted glasses. I'm sure all the stats showing passes and lead changes would back that up. I mean, who thought that less power would be a solution to the high downforce, aero dependent rubbish we've had to watch since the COT and Gen 6?

The new rules are a step in the right direction, but one major knee-jerk decision (namely the GWC rule) had a massive effect on how I feel in general. Usually, Chris P. and I are in the same boat - groan at whatever decision is made, but keep watching in the hopes that things improve... but this one decision had a major impact on my ability to enjoy what is usually my favorite race of the year, as well as my ability to enjoy the rest of this season.

I'll still watch, but goddamn, it's getting harder and harder instead of getting easier.

Haven't watched the last few races. I'll give the 2016 package ago but we all know how NASCAR is run.

I've pretty much thrown in the towel (I know, another hey look at me post).. but it's honestly really tough and kinda depressing for me. I grew up watching the sport, where I'd make sure I kept my weekends free to watch.. it's gotten tougher and tougher to watch and support, be it on the competition side, or the ridiculous mismanagement of the series.

Lately, I'd make sure I had something else to do during the race, that way I could DVR through it in about 30 min to an hour, and even then I'd get frustrated that I wasted my time. At this point, I'll likely just download the races that Kenseth wins after the fact, and then watch or just skip through them.

But yeah, I'm 31, and have watched NASCAR since I can remember, but I just can't bring myself to do it anymore.
