It essentially forces out one-off teams. I dont care what anyone says, teams that put together a car two weeks before Daytona or before any race and show up and try to run well have added a lot to the sport, or even part time teams in general. This essentially kills chances of that happening. Kills interest in qualifying too.

Don't agree with any idea of franchising being involved in motorsports, it doesn't really work that well in other series and I don't think it would work well in NASCAR either.

It's just going to force out the smaller teams yet again. Which in turn will force out drivers who wouldn't have a chance at a development contract with a team or to run a car for 1 or 2 races with a mid pack team because how expensive such programs are. And we can forget any new startup teams forming unless they had alot of money behind them too.

In the end though, it would essentially be a insurance policy for sponsors as they wouldn't have the chance to miss the race like last fall at Talladega.

Chocolate Myers just told a caller that if "you're watching the racing from 41st - 43rd, then you're missing all the great racing up front!" :slaphead:

Chocolate Myers is many good things (good crewman, engaging personality, etc), but he's also kind of a dummy shill when it comes to NASCAR as a product.

Franchising could work IF there was a promotion/relegation system of some sort.

Well now we're getting side-tracked, but (in the US at least) the franchise system is the biggest barrier to a pro/rel sports league format.

I like this because if let's say a Ginn or SHR or DEI or Furniture Row would like to start up and just compete, they can't. We'll see less cars showing up to qualify and less drivers breaking in the top levels of the sport. This is great, this is what the fans want, this is NASCAR.

Now I'm not a fan of franchising or whatever but seriously, when was the last time a team was put together before speedweeks or any other race, actually made the race and was hardly somewhat competitive? Let's be real now.

I remember hearing his 911 call a couple years ago. Hearing someone say "there's gonna be a dead body" and they're talking about themselves is eerie as shit

Regarding the Franchising, when was the honest to God last time a new team tried entering NASCAR from scratch? Most the new teams buy or swap owner points anyways, which sounds similar to franchising to begin with.

Kentucky was added in 2011 so that will mean 10 straight seasons of the same set of tracks for a series that is struggling to hold the fans' interest.

What a fuckin' crock...no new road courses, no new short tracks, just the same old cookie cutter shit for at least five years...just another reason not to continue this shit.
