As an Ambrose fan it bugs me even more. WTF with having two slightly different shades of yellow for the two major sponsors on the same scheme? And of course the hilariously shit number font and colour.

While I understand what you're getting at, the yellow DeWalt uses and the yellow Stanley uses aren't exactly the same.

That 9 is just made of all kinds of fuck-ups.

I love black and yellow together, but that's a swing and a miss.

That number font on the 9 is hideous.

The number font looks totally out of place on the #9. It may look good on some cars but not this one.

It's got to be a place-holder surely. It looks like they've just slapped it on to say it's the 9 car.

The scheme would absolutely work with another font, and I get that they wanted to change it to the Petty font to accompany the 43, but it just doesnt work at all with just the one digit. Plus having the Petty blue outline against all the black and yellow of the rest of the scheme is completely out of place. Stick a Roush #17 number on that and it looks fine, but this just looks awful. Either keep it simple with that sort of font or at least try and make it blend together well!

It would work as one number, just as one of the numbers we're familiar with (4, for example). Who owns that, morgan-mcclure? man, fuck them.

And there's also no reason why it has to have petty blue trim, just have it match the rest of the goddamn scheme.

Well yeah a single digit #9 can work there, but the Petty font doesnt. It just doesnt look right on a race car.

And I feel like the Petty blue trim would work if it also showed up elsewhere on the effing car other than just the number. If they outlined all the yellow contours with that instead of silver, it MIGHT work (Ill run it through photoshop later just for the hell of it). But again, its all so out of place here. This looks like it was literally thrown together in 5 minutes, just tweaked a Stanley base and stuck a Petty #9 on it before even thinking to see if it blended together well.

Nah, then it would just look like the shitty ass cheerios cars that I hope I never see again.

The Pop Secret #43 was pretty cool.

And that new #9 just made me throw up a little. Seriously who the fuck designs this shit. Just awful. Should've used something like Larry Pearson's old Stanley BGN cars.

So do we pretty much all agree that the #9 is the worst scheme of 2011 thus far?

Surely there's one that's proud enough to admit they do it

Have you ever heard a designer come out and say they're proud of their eyesore car?

Well obviously the person that designs an eyesore doesn't think it's an eyesore

Yeaa, but I still don't recall any designer saying they're proud of their car design. Well outside of competitions anyway.
