Have the same thought as well, place needs alot of work for sure.

From what I heard I thought the owner wasn't reachable for anyone to lease or buy the track like I-70?

Dave Atkinson owns the track and is leasing it to this Denney woman.
My understanding is that Dave lives pretty close to the track so if there wasn't a deal I'm sure she would have been thrown out by now.

I walked around the track back in 2014 and I felt like it would take a decent amount of work and money to get the track in a raceable condition again. My biggest concerns are the frontstretch wall which I think at a minimum needs to be reinforced (because it has fallen down before) or better yet pour a new concrete wall to replace the steel beams. The backstretch has an asphalt patch that was in fairly rough condition. Maybe you could race on it, but I think it needs to be re-patched. The rest of the asphalt looked good enough. The facilities, though, are in bad shape. The stands probably need to be replaced and the buildings either need to be repaired or torn down.

The problem with this Denney woman is that it doesn't seem like she has the know-how or financial backing necessary to fix up the track. At least one person who checked the plumbing at the track said the deal she offered to fix it was that he provide all of the materials and labor for free and in exchange he could have a billboard when the track opens. I'd love to see the track open but from everything I've seen and heard it seems like she's either a scam artist or terribly naive.

Heard a update on Donnelly's Dirt Field of Nothing (CNYRP), apparently they ran out of money and work resumes on June 1st

Late notice but Saturday night is the first winged Super show at Oswego, the Port City 160. 75 laps for the non-wing weekly Supers, 50 laps for the Winged Warriors of ISMA and 35 laps for the Small Blocks.

Weather looks like it'll hold and with temps in the low to mid 80's the track record of 14.829 (151.730mph) could be in jeopardy.

This race is also the first of the year to be live on http://www.asphaltvision.com/

Rolling Wheels reportedly has been bought by a new ownership group, Donnelly rumored to be involved according to AARN. :?

Also of note, AARN also reported that DIRTcar was at Oswego taking measurements last weekend for SDW backup plan A. AARN interview with track owner said that Oswego would need repairs made to the backstraight grandstand and would have to build a new pit area behind the backstraight as well.

^ Bwahahahahahahaha! CNY dirt racing is a mess.

The guys on the DTD forum are finally starting to listen to some us longtime Oswego faithful that SDW at Oswego is a horrible idea. But, WRG is screwed.

Oh, Mike Lichty blistered the steel palace with a new track record Saturday night of 14.730 while also winning his heat and the 50 lap ISMA feature. Dave Danzer won a hard fought 75 lap main for the non-wing Supers over Jeff Abold.

It was a crazy crash, I've never seen anything quite like it before. Bradley has an extremely long road ahead of him: http://speed51.com/bradley-mccaskill-re ... h-at-ecms/

Bojangles Summer Shootout season opener is tonight at Charlotte, will be streamed live by PRN/US Legends Cars on YouTube with the features starting at 7PM (eastern)

I wasn't able to get the funding together to run this week or the short term future, but working towards a return later this year.
