That really sucks. Chuck Hall (long-time track promoter) and Bill Mullis ("owner"/leaseholder) have been responsible for turning Langley into a premier facility the last few years. Chuck has been working to get that event at Langley since he returned to the track in 2010. There was some concern last spring about the track not opening due to lease issues. Bill wants to do more improvements to the facility but I don't think he's willing to do it until he owns the track outright.Chuck was in a situation in the late 90s at another track in which his management group made numerous track improvements and had their lease pulled the next season so the owner could reap the benefits. I bet the Langley landowner is holding out until the start of race season hoping Bill will cave and pay whatever he's asking to avoid missing the start of the season. I'm sure that's what happened last season but I'm sure Bill doesn't want to play that game every season.

Are all the teams based in NC? They certainly don't venture too far away from there.

I saw one of their races at Ace Speedway last October. I could be wrong but remember hearing a lot of names associated with places in the Midwest when the announcer was calling qualifying.

I think it's mostly midwestern teams, Andretti ran the series a few years ago before Jarrett moved up to sprints. They used to run most of the season at my local track (Concord) on the quarter mile until 2 or so years ago.

Sounds like the next time we know any information on the future of Irwindale will be in July.

Columbus Speedway is going to be sold, and probably closing after 2016.

Midvale Speedway is for sale, and will operate as normal until sold.

heard about Columbus, hearing the buyer is the town that the track is in, as they want to expand the park that is next to the track. Didn't hear about Midvale though.
