Bob Pockrass reporting that Harry Scott said that he will field 1 to 2 Xfinity Series cars and several K&N Pro Series cars out of HScott. No truck teams however.

Ray Dunlap did his last NCWTS race as a pit reporter on Friday night, unknown if he will be moving to a different series (Cup/NNS/IMSA etc.) that FOX has rights for or if he was yet another person to leave/get kicked out from FOX (Dillner, Dorsey, Voda etc.)

In March, Daytona plans to remove its familiar white tower on the frontstretch - emblazoned with "DAYTONA" and filled with suites, race control and a press box - but will not have its replacement ready until the 2016 Daytona 500. That means the 2015 Coke Zero 400 on July 5 will feature a temporary race control and television booth located in a backstretch suite for NBC's first race in its return to being a NASCAR broadcaster. Daytona is removing its backstretch stands (the "Superstretch"), but not until after July's race.

That means NBC will be able to transform a suite for its purposes, though announcers won't have a very good view of the start or finish.

The Announcers are suppose to be looking at monitors anyway so it shouldn't make that much of a difference to them.

2 more races in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series for 2015 has been confirmed. They will return to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport) on May 17 and August 30

Rex Stump, who co-designed the T-Rex car that dominated the 1997 Winston, has joined Stewart Haas Racing.

Rumor going around that Ganassi would bring the #42 and #31 NXS cars in house from TSM with both Larson and Kwasniewski. Also rumored that Larson would run a smaller schedule in 2015 as far as NXS goes.

3 year extension for Kahne, don't know where that leaves Chase Elliott for Sprint Cup in '16.

Wonder if this will, in fact, be Jeff's last year in the 24. Maybe he runs full Nationwide? I just didn't think Kasey would get an extension. Maybe they can figure something out with JRM where Rick is no longer an owner but have a Stewart-Haas type of alliance? Really no clue what to think here...

Everyone except Kahne fans are similarly bewildered. Maybe they just wanted to maintain their pretty boy quota intact to piss off Kurt.

Jeff's not retiring till he gets that fifth championship. He's still as good as anyone out there and I don't see him going anywhere in the next 3 years.

Doesn't JAFF have a "lifetime" contract?

Post subject:  Re: Random NASCAR Discussion

Count me among those a bit bewildered by the Kahne announcement. With Jimmie not going anywhere, Dale Jr. apparently not going anywhere and now Kasey not going anywhere until 2018, that leaves no room at the inn for Chase Elliott in 2016 - unless, of course, they all know something we don't.

I might have to hop on another bandwagon sooner than I expected. :(

HA! I'm leaning towards Jimmie, BTW. Jeff Gordon Lite.

Is that Dark Side enough for ya?? :p

Earnhardt Jr's TBT posts are always amazing. Here's his dad riding his bike backwards.

NASCAR will scrap the 4 team rule citing economic or "excltement" reasons, you watch...

Post subject:  Re: Random NASCAR Discussion

There are Hendrick-related options for Chase Elliott in the event that Gordon isn't retiring any time soon.

Ganassi's got the Hendrick engines, but it's not exactly a "satellite" team like Stewart-Haas. As for SHR, the only person I see leaving there within the next few years is Danica, but since sponsorship will probably never be a problem for her, I'm not so sure about that, and I don't think he'd but Chase in an HScott (or whatever) car, either.

What other Hendrick-affiliated teams are there? Am I missing any?

Post subject:  Re: Random NASCAR Discussion

No way Hendrick puts talent like Chase in a Harry Scott car. No effin way. And he's not going to screw the pooch like he did letting Brad walk to Penske by saying there's "no room at the inn". There's a plan in place, we just don't know it.

What in the world are you talking about?

Hendrick did help get Kahne the Red Bull ride in 2011 while staying under the HMS banner (somehow), so who knows where Chase will end up.
