If it ends up anything like the United Promoter Series from a few years ago, it won't last.

Video of the rules meeting for the new X-Cup Series that will race at Rockingham next year, plans are for old Cup/Xfinity/ARCA cars and Camping World Trucks with late model stock car engine & transmission rules. No coil binding or bumpstops will be allowed, splitters are legal but not mandatory. They also said that they wanted to focus on making sure the low budget drivers can show up and run without major issues.

It is the same group of people that was trying to get the track last year (Vets-Help). They also said they don't have plans on trying to get a NASCAR or ARCA date in the current future at the track.

http://www.ransomvillespeedway.com/media.htm

Ransomville has issued a new social media policy for 2016. I think this is a good idea and I give them credit for being the first (that I've seen) in the Northeast to take this step. If you think people are negative or pessimistic on this board, take a trip over to the Dirt Track Digest forum. I hope it never turns into a NASCAR or NFL-like system of mysterious fines but something needed to be done because the atmosphere surrounding the dirt racing around here is just so fucking negative.

another update on Rockingham, X-Cup Series could have their season opener in April, and the southeast region of NASA Pro Racing has a race scheduled on the infield road course for July 4th weekend.

And the ones who are politicians and friends of them with loads of money call this "progress" as they cheer with no care or even mention to the history of auto racing at the NYSF. :(

so for now, I will leave this here.

I almost cried when I saw that video the other day.

15 years of my butt in that grandstand. I should've stolen the seats like I planned.

Have 4 weeks of vacation this year. Maybe we'll go to the National Open or the World Finals instead.

Langley Speedway has a problem. Dominion Raceway, about an hour and a half away, will be opening this season under NASCAR sanctioning and it has generated quite a bit of interest. There's no doubt they're going to lose some cars to the new track. Also, they are the only NASCAR sanctioned track in Virginia that hasn't released a schedule yet. Word started getting out last week that management is having trouble with the lease. The current leaseholder, Bill Mullis, wants to buy the property from the landowner but they're having difficulty coming to an agreement. A local news station reported that management has moved much of their equipment out of the track. I'm not sure if that's true or not but either way it's going to hurt the track if they race this season. A lot of drivers, fans, and sponsors are already looking around for somewhere else to go. They've got 3 months to figure it out and I hope they do but I think it's going to be a step backwards compared to the last few seasons.

It is an awesome track. One of the premier dirt tracks in the north east. It gets tons of Canadians as well. Lots of cars and full fields every week.
