YAY! They are killing themselves, awesome..... Galuzzi is the guy in charge at DTRP. It was Jim Reid.

Why cant they just do a touring series for sst and lm's and that be it?

When did the SST's become the strongest division in the Northeast?

Why can't they keep the rules the same and have complimenting weekly schedules, creating a semi-formal tour? It seems to work for the 360 Sprint guys, so why can't it work on pavement?

Mind you, the fact that the ones running the show and quite a few running in the show can't see beyond their own tracks means that it won't be done.

Im talking asphalt wise, the sst/sportsman division was becoming the best division/strongest division. The DIRT mods are the best series going in the NE.

Greed is what gets in the way of everything. Everyone sees their own track and nothing else(owner wise). If they listened to the racers, things would be way healthier.

Maybe out in New York, but not in the Northeast overall. I like the concept but to me it just doesn't seem executed that well.

I should say most healthy. I dont think racing wise it is the best, but it is probably the most healthy. It even gets on TV now and then as well.

I'm talking pavement as well - Why can't they build something out of nothing when the rules are close, like the dirt tracks/series have done?

Even health wise I can think of 3 or 4 series that are healthier. Like I said maybe out htere but over hear the series might as well not even exist.

Sk mods good out there in CT? ISMA Supers?

SK's aren't bad, car counts aren't what they used to be but still steady. ISMA is about hte same as usual, its hard to compare them since they travel so much and its such a niche series. ACT is doing pretty well, same with the MRS, WMT is holding steady as well, hopefully this supposed TV deal will help.

SK Mods draw cars only at Thompson and Stafford. Waterford is pathetic unless it's a big race with the True Value cars in town, then you get a decent car count. ISMA, as was said, is what it is. It's a touring series with a set number of franchised teams (top 12 I think.) The three CT races I went to last year had 25+ cars in attendance which is decent. Supers are a hard machine to get a handle on and a lot of the parts have to be hand built. ISMA is much more a NE tour that it is anything else. Don't let the crowds and cars out west at Berlin and Sandusky fool you, they rely heavily on the MSA to support those races. Without the the 10-12 MSA cars out west, ISMA would only draw 15 cars for those races. Still, with a tour race, money talks. The big paydays always bring larger car counts, be it ISMA, ESS, URC, DIRT, True Value, etc. With 10g's on the line they had 35 cars at Oswego last summer for the KoW race.

NASCAR has released the TV schedule for their regional series, this is only for the races that will air on SPEED. According to the article they are still working to finalize a deal with Versus to air some more Whelen Modified and Southern Modified races and TSN for the Canadian Tire Series races.

That's a healthy number of Mod races on that list. :)

Max Papis may be racing in tomorrow's UARA Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Papis was at Hickory today running some practice laps in Jarit Johnson's car.

I figured some people might find that interesting.

As for myself, I'll be heading down to South Boston Speedway tomorrow for their season opener, as long as the weather doesn't suck.

I walked into Southside Speedway tonight as a fan with a camera, I walked out as the official Southside Speedway Videographer. Making me the official videographer of both Southside and Langley Speedways.

I can bring anyone with me who is going to help me, so yeah pretty much as long as you can do something to help me.

Langley Speedway got rained out tonight, and by rained out I mean they canceled at 10 am in anticipation of rain and then it didn't actually rain until about 10 pm, when 75-100% of the racing would have been completed on a typical night. So I was kind of annoyed by that.
